Clinical Manual and Review of Transesophageal Echocardiography 2nd Edition

I met Madhav Swaminathan at an echo conference and I really liked his teaching style. I decided to buy this text and I am glad I did. Not only did I ace the boards on my first attempt (thanks to this book), but in my opinion, going thru this text makes you a better teacher as well. It is systematically organized, esp the subject of ‘Diastology’.Even though I got great fellowship training at Mass General, I must say the guys at Duke are exceptional echo teachers. It's the most comprehensive, reasonably sized intraoperative TEE book I've read. It's easy to follow and reading any chapter for the first time, you feel brilliant at that topic by the end.The authors are the biggest names in intraoperative TEE and current in the translation for all modalities into clinical practice, decision making, and outcomes more than anyone else in the world.Finally it also has lots and lots of practice questions for anyone studying for the TEE boards.

Here I am not talking about the material it self, the material is very good and the information is broad I am talking about the kindle version, it is confusing, disorganized, the figures are illustrated under another title, if you go back to the previous page it will have another different arrangement that will make more confusion. I thing amazon should improve the kindle version before readers take bad idea about this amazing well done book. If I the choice back I will chose the paper version.

Great review book for the TEE. I used this text and the ASA TEE course for the Basic Peri-operative TEE. Friends used this text for the Advanced Echo. We all did well, passing by wide margins. Easy to use with approximately 500 sample test questions that are written in the same format as the actual test. If you are studying for next years Basic Echo, the first half of this book will be all you need to study to pass. Is the book used by all the Maryland and Hopkins people. Good luck!

The book content might be very good. But the kindle version it is not friendly. Difficult to browse or look for a specific subject.

It's in good condition

Easy to read, thorough. I read it after Perrino.

Good reference, but the electronic version loaded to an iPad does not have a functional table of contents or index which limits the usefulness.
