Works perfectly with a Chromebook
Even though my new Acer Chromebook has a Touchpad as well as a Touchscreen and Stylus, I still prefer the mouse interface. This AmazonBasics Wireless Mouse was so inexpensive that I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. It's excellent. It is shaped much like Logitech's MX series mice -- the same large, ergonomically-sculpted shape which I find very comfortable (though not especially portable). I just plugged the receiver into the Chromebook and it worked! Battery life seems good. I've been using it for more than two weeks with 2 rechargeable AA's and I'm still getting 2 out of 3 LEDs on the battery indicator. It tracks predictably and remains connected. Buttons and scroll-wheel operate with the same "feel" as my Logitech mice. It is "Plug-and-Play" and does not come with any software. Instead, with whichever OS you're using, go your System Settings and make your adjustments for things like pointer speed there. I'm also using two different AmazonBasics Surge protectors and a USB Hub. I've found them all, as well as this Wireless Mouse, to be well-made, reliable and great value.

Solid budget friendly solution that can withstand heavy usage
After using this item for work for a few weeks I can say with confidence that it exceeds my expectations. The mouse works for my large hands, it provides support and the buttons feels pretty solid considering its price. Highly recommended budget friendly solution. Easy to connect and so far reliable. The sensitivity meets my expectations, the battery has not been replaced yet despite using it for 8hr/day.

Has been working great for over 3 years
I bought this for work about 3 years ago because I don't care for the corded Dell mice my company provides, and the Logitech Performance MX I was using started to randomly double-click. I use a G602 at home for everyday use and it's been awesome for about 8 years, but I didn't want to spring for the new MX or G to bring into work. This mouse is dang near identical to the Performance MX in size and shape. It doesn't have the weight or the premium feel of the Logitech. However, the battery life is pretty close to the same. When I bought this mouse there were barely any reviews. Going through the reviews now it makes me wonder if the manufacturing has declined since I purchased mine. I have not experienced any lag, imprecision, defects, or any of the negative things I've read in some of the reviews recently. I mean using this mouse something like 6-8 hours a day for 5 days a week I see some wear on the finish, but I saw that same wear on all my Logitechs. I do have to agree about the Windows button though. It's odd. I never use it. However, it's not super easy to press so I've never accidentally hit it (same goes with the zoom button), and I have large hands (I wear XL or XXL gloves). It would be nice to be able to reprogram the side buttons, but honestly I usually only ever program them for forward and backward (which this already has). The wireless dongle is tiny just like a Logitech Unifying Receiver, so it suffers from the same receptions issues... Don't plug it directly into the back of a desktop unless your close with no obstructions! I see that mistake a LOT, and people complain about mouse performance. If your only USB port is on the back of the PC, get an extension. Logitech used to be nice and send an extension with its "desktop" mice, but I've not bought one in so long now that I don't know if they still do! So if budget is a concern, I definitely think this is a good mouse to get. I don't think you'll be happy if you get it specifically for gaming or are expecting that nice Logitech heavy and soft feel. If you're experiencing poor performance, try a USB extension to get it away from the computer's metal.

Very poor range
I really want to like this mouse and I really don't like giving 1 star reviews but for me this device was not usable. Even with keeping the wireless receiver less than 1 foot away from the mouse I am plagued with continuous interruption / loss if signal. So if I'm moving my mouse across the screen the cursor might pause 4 or 5 times (because it loses signal for a few seconds). I click and it doesn't register. I scroll and it doesn't scroll. I've tried numerous batteries but it has been like this since purchase. Previously I had my desk set up where the receiver was 6 inches away (I arranged it purely for the sake of getting the mouse to work) from it at all times and it worked significantly better (not perfectly). I rearranged my whole desk to give me more space and so I moved where I had the receiver plugged in about a foot away and the issue became extremely pronounced and frustrating. With the functional range for me being 6 inches, I'd rather have a wired mouse. Unless my device is a fluke, I'd recommend not buying. Assuming it did work perfectly (like it almost did when my desk was setup differently) the scrolling is kinda slow and the back/forward buttons don't work on a Mac natively. I didn't have time or effort to spend to trying to get it to work to be fair. The mouse itself is extremely comfortable all things being said. So if it did work perfectly I'd probably give 3-4 stars but the low range / signal drop / whatever is just too frustrating and means it's an unusable product for me.

I’m a web designer and developer and I build cool websites at AEY marketing solutions, I ORDERED THIS a this mouse, vga to hdmi converter, extended mouse pad, AA batteries. (All items above are AMAZON BASICS ONLY) I love to buy from Amazon basics and ordered these items and I loved it. Now best part is this mouse is extended full size mouse with zoom button on it. I use MacBook Pro and a dell monitor. I found bad reviews for this mouse but I still ordered as I have full trust on Amazon basics products. BEST PART 1 : TAP ZOOM BUTTON 2 times and it will start voice recognition/ Siri. Windows button is not working (who cares it’s Apple) BEST PART 2 : FORWARD AND BACKWARD BUTTON this is amazing for performing multiple functions, I can literally use forward and backward button on chrome a lot. BEST PART 3 : FAST SCROLLING BUTTON Press this button and scroll faster NOTE: They also have batteries included inside the box. 2 AA AMAZON BASICS BATTERIES NO LAGGING PREMIUM QUALITY YOU WILL LOVE THE EXPERIENCE Conclusion: I LOVED THESE PRODUCTS.

Bought this mouse because of amazon brand. Low quality built. Scroll wheel has several speeds and you cannot guess what the speed will be when you start scrolling. Materials are very cheap and scroll wheel has that feeling of dangling bearings. Overall this would be a great mouse for 5-7 dollars price tag. Laser sensor is very disappointing and you cannot select text with the precision to one letter. It keeps jumping sideways. They tried to copy Logitech MX Master 3 but unfortunately their version is piece of crap. Does not even stand close to my old HP X4500. After half a day of using i packed it back and threw away. Dont buy.
