Reliable and Convenient
I recently purchased the 2-Port Gigabit Passthrough Powerline Starter Kit, and it has greatly improved my home network connectivity. This powerline kit offers a reliable and convenient solution for extending the network connection throughout my house. Pros: Easy Setup: The powerline starter kit is incredibly easy to set up. Simply plug one adapter into a power outlet near your router and connect it via an Ethernet cable. Then, plug the second adapter into a power outlet in the desired room and connect your devices. No complicated configuration or wiring is required. Stable and Fast Connection: The powerline adapters utilize the existing electrical wiring in your home to extend the network connection. This provides a stable and fast connection, ideal for activities such as online gaming, streaming, and large file transfers. Passthrough Outlet: The adapters come with a built-in passthrough outlet, allowing you to use the power outlet for other devices without sacrificing an available socket. Gigabit Ethernet Ports: Each adapter features two Gigabit Ethernet ports, providing flexibility for connecting multiple devices, such as gaming consoles, smart TVs, and computers. Power-saving Mode: The powerline adapters are designed with a power-saving mode, reducing energy consumption when not in use. Cons: Performance May Vary: The performance of powerline adapters can be affected by the quality and age of your home's electrical wiring. In some cases, you may experience reduced speeds or occasional dropouts. Limited Range: The effectiveness of the powerline adapters diminishes over longer distances, particularly if there are multiple electrical circuits or interference present. Overall, the 2-Port Gigabit Passthrough Powerline Starter Kit is a reliable solution for extending network connectivity throughout your home. Its easy setup, stable connection, passthrough outlet, and Gigabit Ethernet ports make it a convenient choice for improving network performance. While performance may vary depending on your home's wiring and there is a limited range to consider, the overall performance and convenience of this powerline kit make it a valuable addition to any home network.

Amazing
Honestly, very good, i was using wifi before and it was inconsistent and stuttery but this fixed all the problems, its great if direct ethernet isn’t an option for you, its really easy to setup and should work in older houses aswell, its almost acts as a normal ethernet cable would but very slightly higher ping, would recommend if you have problems with wifi

Work well but a little bulky.
As with most TP-Link gear I've bought, these provide good functionality at a reasonable price. So far they've performed well providing close to gigabit performance. The Windows-only configuration utility is useful as it shows the connectivity details between each adapter including third-party ones and allows all to be named and TP-Link ones to be configured to prioritize certain classes of traffic at the MAC (layer 2) level. After installing the application, I'd recommend uninstalling the obsolete and no longer supported WinPcap it also installs and replacing it with the latest version of Npcap which is backward compatible and more secure. On the down side, they are rather bulky so if installing on a wall behind, say, a TV cabinet there will have to be a gap, especially if you use the pass-through power socket. It would be nice if they were addressable at the TCP/IP level using, say, a web interface or SNMP so that they could be configured and monitored from other subnets in a routed environment but that's a minor niggle.

Fantastic Piece of Hardware
This works amazingly as a Ethernet extension and has been in my daily use for years. It's simple to use being literally to just plug in to 2 outlets and press a button and they pair up with no issues. Since they come with plug sockets on as well its not like you lose anything in terms of functionality with other plugs. You can see the difference between the internet on Wi-Fi and Ethernet, its basically night and day and one of the Adapters has 2 Ethernet ports so you can connect 2 devices, I chose to connect my PC and Console the only slight criticism I can give is that the Ethernet cables it comes with a quite short so if you want something longer you'll need to buy them separately but other than that its an all round solid piece of hardware that is essential if you value more consistent internet due to Ethernet.

Significantly increased inter connectivity speed
Made an amazing difference - from around 2Mbps over WIFI to over 75Mbps over the new LAN. Well worth the investment. Very simple to install.

Very easy to set up and speed is fantastic. (see my speed comparisons test)
I already had two TP-Link plugs like this which I have had for a few years now. I needed another one for my bedroom so purchased this to pair with the old two. I only needed to use one of the two new TP-link plugs so I plugged one in; pressed the “pair” button on the old TP-Link plug first. When the top green light started flashing, I pressed the “pair” button on the new TP-Link plug and within moments the new plug was paired up with the old TP-Link plugs. I did some speed comparisons with my laptop. I connected my laptop directly to the sky router using one of the CAT.5 Ethernet cable provided in the box. After that I checked the speed using the speedtest.net website. After that I checked the speed connected to the new TP-link plug, then I plugged the new TP-Link into an extension lead because that’s where I was going to plug it in for use. I wanted to see if the extension lead would affect the speed in any way. After that I did a test on the WiFi. The results are below: Upload Mbps Download Mbps Speed when connected directly to Sky router 6.78 26.91 Speed when connect to New TP-Link plug 6.75 26.89 New TP-Link in extension lead 6.75 26.88 Wifi speed 6.75 26.89 From the numbers above you can see that the TP-Link plug is very good for speed. The differences are only in the point number which is nothing really. One thing to bear in mind is that your broadband speed is always changing depending on the time of day and how many people are streaming on your network at the same time. I did this test when I was home alone so nobody was using my internet and it was at 9.45 in the morning. I hope this review helps you in your decision making. I would highly recommend it. Especially if you like online gaming like me and hate the random lag mid game.

Good but dishonest marketing
AV1000: Be advised that the advertised "1000Mbps" DOES NOT mean you'll get gigabit ethernet speed. Under ideal conditions the ethernet speed will be one third of the rated powerline speed, which means approx. 333Mbps MAXIMUM. TP-Link explains this on their website. In my house I get 140-200Mb/s. Even if I bought TP-Link's (currently) fastest AV2000 kit, I'd probably only get 400Mb/s of my 500Mb/s broadband. I've since bought a PCIE WiFi adapter for my PC (Intel AX210) which gets me the full download speed and with very slightly better latency (WiFi 6, 5GHz). TP-Link isn't alone in marketing powerline speeds this way. I think other vendors do the same. Otherwise, good product. Easy pairing, stable connection, and compact size no longer interferes with access to the power switch in a standard UK double socket, unlike older models. There's even some software (tpPLC) available on their website for minor features like updating firmware, disabling the LEDs and turning off power saving mode (which doesn't improve ethernet speed).

Solved my connection problems
I have a 900mbps (90mbps upload) internet connection, very fast, but one room in the house is a wifi dead zone. It's a 3 storey house, wifi router ground floor at the front, room is 2nd floor at the back. Very poor wifi performance from both a streaming Sony TV set and MacBook Pro. Lots of buffering or no connection at all. I tried a wifi booster, but too flaky to be useful. These powerline adapters work great for me. 150mbps download and 90mbps upload. Ok, nowhere near the stated 1000mbps, but these are respectable speeds, and most importantly, they are stable and consistent. It means I can now happily stream 4k video content and have video meetings without annoying dropouts or that stupid buffering icon. Well worth the money.
