Works as advertized - and then some!
We are currently restoring an 1890s house. After a LOT of work, sanding and scraping to reveal the original treads, we wanted to reduce the risk of trips and falls, whilst retaining the beauty of the exposed wood. I looked at carpet strips, carpet runners and 'stick on' adhesive strips. All of these options would have covered up our hard work. I ordered this product as a last resort. It was reasonably priced & as it is made by Rustoleum, I felt it was worth trying. Boy - was I surprised! The product mixed easily with our satin finish polyurethane. Once mixed, it remained in suspension, only requiring stirring between coats. We actually used two coats, although the directions suggest only one. The additive gives a textured finish that provides traction underfoot, but is virtually invisible. Although you can feel it with your hand, it is comfortable for bare feet, not rough at all. Our little cat can continue to take her hairpin bends at warp speed and we feel that we have an enhanced degree of safety, without compromising on style. 5*

Works well, easy to use, but lacking in mixing instructions
This worked great. As others have noted, my only issue is the mixing instructions were quite lacking. I understand why, though, because there are so many variables and the manufacturer has no way to know all of the variables. Results will vary based on whether it is added to paint, poly, etc.Refer to the photo for my mix and the results. I used about 1 heaping tbsp of powder to about 1 cup of water-based poly. The resulting texture was close to about a 220-grit sandpaper on the finished surface. Enough to add some grip and texture while still giving a visually appealing finish. Good product and recommend using.

very fine grit
I used this in the poly topcoat on my painted steps. I mixed a full tsp in a quarter cup of poly. I put on two coats according to the poly directions. It works, no slipping. It is very fine, not a harsh grit, but takes the slip out. I'm happy.

Works Great!
I used this product on the wooden rifle butts of my BB and Pellet rifles so that they would no longer slip inside my shoulder. I mixed the Clear Grip powder into Tru-Oil by Birchwood Casey (available on Amazon) until it was a slurry, or a not-so-thick paste in a plastic cup. I brushed it onto the butts of the rifles. When dried it provided a non-slip surface. Looks good too. Rubbing my finger across it I can feel the tiny, sand-like bumps. When I painted it on I couldn't see the sand and I was worried it wouldn't work. But when dry the tiny, sand-like bumps showed up visibly. I highly recommend this product.

Works Okay
I bought this for non-skid for my swimming pool epoxy coating. It does work but you need to apply more than the recommendation, in my experience. For pool epoxy I would recommend applying a small sample on a concrete stepping stone to ensure its not too slippery. I used it on my spa and it was extremely slippery even with the recommended amount, I doubled it when I did my pool and it was much better.

Amazing Additive
This stuff is amazing. We refinished our stairs going down to the basement and were tired of slipping all the time when we were in our socks. We used a satin clear coat and you cannot see the texture at all. Not sure what it would look like with a gloss finish. Some people are complaining that it is unclear how much to put in. I didn’t necessarily worry about that and just added some until I could see it in the clear coat. I only used one can of clear coat. I guess I would be more worried if I had to use two cans to get the same amount in each can. There are some negative reviews saying that it doesn’t work. I’m not sure how that is possible. Perhaps not enough was added. We will probably refinish our other stairs. This stuff is so great to use as you get older.

Works extremely well on a wooden deck for a little traction
After staining our 18x22 deck which already has sealer, I wanted to add an extra clear coat of stain to the deck but my wife was already telling me it was too slippery - which it was. After a lot of research, I decided on this product. I mixed one bag to a little less than 1 gallon of sealer in a smaller container and "went to work". You need to make sure you routinely stir the product around as it does settle to the bottom. It dried clear and provides enough traction for us and the dog as she rounds to corner to chase those invading squirrels.

Non-skid
I used this on a ramp that was part of my deck, primarily used by my dog. This is a new ramp that was stained a few months ago, but my dog slid on this wood ramp until I used this non-skid grip additive. I mixed the additive with the oil based stain. It went on easily and looked exactly as it did when it was first stained, except now there is absolutely skid-proof. It still looks smooth, but provides outstanding non-slip when walking on it. Even in 90 degree temps, it took 48 hours to dry thoroughly. A very inexpensive way to ensure no slipping or falls. OUTSTANDING!

Clear and easy to add to Polyrethane
Used it with a 30% thinned Polyethane for the top coat of hardwood stairs. Makes the stairs feel like 120 grit sandpaper and still remain clear.

did not work for our driveway
the non-slip did not work on our driveway. be careful if using this outside on a driveway. I do not recommend this product or the seal-crete. It was very expensive for us to remove.
