GE Dryer Timer WE4M527

Very easy to install. Repair man wanted over 100.00 dollars just to look at it. 15 minutes I had it fixed. Go figure. Dryer is fixed and still working today. 3 years ago thanks for a great piece.

We were having trouble with our factory GE dryer timer. The timer was very stiff to turn and we continuously broke knobs. I did some research and found that this was an issue with this dryer and that a new part was put out. This part was a direct replacement and was a factory fix for the issue. The new knob looks and feels exactly like the factory part. It's not a "cheap" replacement part. Installation took less than 10 minutes (don't be afraid to yank the wire connectors off and be sure to connect the wire to it's given location on the new timer once disconnected from the old timer before moving onto a new wire). We've been using it for a few months now with no problems what so ever. The knob turns smoothly and gives feedback while turning and at each drying position. Amazon also had the best price. Shipping was next day and free even though it wasn't prime. If you're breaking dryer knobs, don't buy a replacement knob until you pick this new timer up!

Just bought this product a couple of days ago and received it today. Shipping was great as always with Amazon. As others have mentioned on here, it's actually a pretty easy job to change out the timer. Just make sure to move one wire at a time from your old timer to the new timer so that you don't get them mixed up and have to refer to a wiring diagram. We needed to change ours for the same reason as a lot of other people on here. Our old one got hard to turn and we rounded the post off as we kept replacing knobs on it. I had been operating our dryer with a pair of pliers for a while now, and that wasn't going to cut it for my wife... :). Anyway, the new timer is a perfect replacement for our GE Model DRSR495EG5WW. The product that we received was a genuine GE renewal part and is doing the job just fine!

Like a lot of other people our timer became very hard to turn and cracked the knob stem. Timer was easy to install, just replace one wire at a time. Seems to turn easier than original so hopefully will last longer. Price was comparable or better than most other web sites. Was a genuine GE product. Shipping prompt.

Replacement was the correct part. But engineering on this design is horrible. Knobs where plastic at one point which probably in a year, stripes the knob. So instead of fixing the timer, they inserted a metal band around the knob. Which, in turn causes the timer to strip. They should have made the turning post a little easy to turn or at the very least make it metal. Not plastic. Installing is pretty straightforward and took about 10 minutes.There’s a YouTube video making it easy. Saved a few bucks. Next time you shop for a dryer check the plastic parts.

For the longest time we were using a wrench to turn the dial for the timing on our GE dryer. I had replaced the knob several times before realizing the problem wasn't the knob. But it finally broke and I found this replacement. I was able to replace it in less than 30 minutes but removing the back of the dryer and then removing the wires one at a time and attaching them to the new piece. It's nice to know how long we are drying our clothes for again.
