I bought this product after seeing the ratings. I liked the price which included 3 ink refills. This product is easy to use and I liked the result on regular paper statements, checks and so on. I was excited to use it on prescription bottles and shipping labels on packages, because they can be taking more time to get rid of. Descriptions for this product did not mention it works on package labels, but I was hoping it works on them. After testing it on the paper statements, I had to go over two times first horizontal and then diagonal way to make sure. I could not see the info. from the back, either. I thought this would be a great gift since holiday is approaching. However, it was disappointing when I tried it on a prescription bottle and a packaging label. I wanted to make sure it works so I tried to remove the ink with 50% alcohol. It cleaned up right away and exposed the personal information. Shredder actually works better for me since I can feed multiple papers at a time, but I have no doubt I will still use this product for other times as well. This product is definitely convenient and I will still consider it as an option for a gift for those who do not have a shredder. I could have been thrilled if it worked for glossy labels and I could buy a lot more. I do hope I can see it available in near future.

This roller covers my name/address or other sensitive information completely. It makes putting anything into the recycle bin feel secure from identify thieves. The cover pops off easily and it doesn't get ink all over my hands. Finally found a good one.

It's a super simple device so in that regard it's well-designed and compact, two thumbs up for that. However, it doesn't work on thermal labels (e.g. those kinda shiny sticker labels that UPS and Amazon uses) - I attached two pics so you can see what it looks like when you first roll the ink on and it looks great with full obfuscation but give it a few minutes and the ink disappears so you can clearly read the text from the label. For that reason, I wouldn't buy this again.
