I saw this at a local furniture store for twice as much (though I didn't know that at the time). I really liked how it looked, plus the combination of cubbies and shelves. Decided not to purchase in-person at that price as it would have been an impulse purchase. But I really liked it. So I started looking on-line. This is the same item I saw in store. I'm actually using it in my daughter's room -- cubbies for socks and soft items, shelves for toys, stuffed animals, and fabric cubes holding smaller items. The slatted shelves would make it difficult to use as a bookshelf but we already have plenty of those. I imagine most people would use near their front door or in their entry space for gloves, hats, shoes, boots, backpacks. It's very sturdy -- could certainly handle a great deal. I just didn't want ours to get dirty and/or wet, especially during winter as it looks so nice. We have other shelves and hooks for those items. Does come in a flat box and assembly is required.

I use the bins for hats, gloves, scarves and our dogs leash / harness. The levels I use to organize shoes at our entry. It’s so cute, great quality and works wonders for what used to be an shoe-eyesore of a mess at our entry!

I bought this to organize the foyer, each kid has a cubby and they put their shoes in as soon as we walk in the door. Love the look and quality.
