Caran d'AcheLuminance 6901 Pencils - Buff Titanium (6901.801)

Buff titanium is an off white pencil. It is absolutely stunning by itself, when used for highlights, or to lighten up your colors in a creamy way without a white cast. I just love it.If you haven't tried it I would HIGHLY recommend getting both the caran dache luminance buff titanium and caran dache luminance white. They are amazing, they complement and work well with several brands, you aren't limited to using it with just other luminance pencils (i use them with prismacolor, schpirrer farben - don't know if I spelled it right but it works great with them, and of course faber castell polychromos. Those are the three brands I use regularly with my buff titanium and white luminance pencils (and the full blender bright, also by caran dache) but friends use it with Lyra, derwent, pablos, scholars etc)As far as the price...If you are just getting 1 pencil to try, then it doesn't matter if you get it from amazon or online direct from and art supply store like dick blick cause once you factor in shipping, the price is the same.Now if you already know you love the pencil and want to buy several then i suggest you buy direct from art supply. ;)

Quality art pencil.

Let me just start off saying that I’m a novice. I just started seriously coloring about a year ago. I had no clue that certain pencils lay down differently. I was brought up thinking crayola crayons were the only way to go. However my thoughts have changed drastically. From Crayolas to Polychromos I have learned a lot. Having said that I was never impressed with any white pencil until I met Luminence. It’s sexy the way it lays down . It’s silky and creamy and just amazing ! It’s the only luminance pencil that I currently own but that will change very soon.

Based on some professional artists that recommended this pencil, I bought a few about three years ago. Since then I've drawn hundreds of pieces and haven't used anything else. Keep a sharpener nearby for the details, but keep a dull pencil also. Buy two.

Prismacolor's white is okY, but this kicks butt!

Color makes my world go 'round. This color is so beautiful. I know I can get these pencils and a much better rate locally, but this color in particular is always sold out. After seeing it I can understand why. I have used Caran d'Ache pencils before. They are creamy and buttery so I'm looking forward to using this one. It arrived early and in a box to protect it! I was stunned by such care.
