This is an amazing companion for my daily Bible studies
I was looking for a book that word help me “mine the nuggets in God’s Word”. I found it in A Hebrew Word For The Day”. My wife bought this for me a few years ago the Lord prompted me to add it to my daily Bible reading. I am so glad that I did. This book is full of so much truth and revelation. As I read it, I begin to understand more about what God is saying to us in his word. You can’t just read a translation of the Bible if you don’t understand the Hebrew word behind it this book opens up the Scriptures, like I have never experienced before. Just look at June if you don’t believe me. June has taken me Through what David was saying in Psalms 23. Experience the book for yourself you will not be disappointed. I will only suggest this don’t wait two years to pick it up like I did. If you buy it start on it because you will not be disappointed. I’m also going to start on the other one that she bought me A Greek word for the day.

Interesting and useful
It came earlier than expected. This devotional book is very interesting and useful. I have used the other book "a Greek Word for the Day" and it is very useful. So I see that this will be the same. Even though there are no words in actual Hebrew but the transliteration is there so if one does not know Hebrew or is a Hebrew scholar the material can be understood and useful. Therefore this is a good investment to enrich the study of God's Word.

Good but missing a key element
Great daily reading book. Lots of info on words and their significance. Worth the investment. Only drawback: I wish the author had included a phonetic spelling and accent marks for each work - there is a generalized chart to help with pronunciation, but you really don't know if you are able to say the words correctly. Otherwise, it is a good resource of specifically selected Greek and Hebrew words and how they are used in scripture.

combination of Devotional and Hebrew word studies and a touch of academic
this book can give you understandings of the Hebrew that will stick with you...I highly recommend it...it is not too academic...for example it doesn't spell out the word in Hebrew but it does gives the strong's number and a transliteration for each word...so you can follow up academically if you want to...and if you want to use it devotionally you can also do that...I am just learning hebrew so I find this book useful for understanding the meaning of the words

Well thought out...
Though only 11 days into the study (and I don't skip to the end to see how it ends) I have found it to be, so far, well executed, well thought out, and carefully written. I believe that no little care has been taken to assure accuracy of content and that varying interpretations are included. Honest. I am enjoying it.

Excellent Resource!
I enjoy my daily reading of A Hebrew Word for the Day. Doc Watson has done an excellent job in creating a resource that helps readers understand one new Hebrew each day, how it fits in the context of the Scripture passage and then provides helpful ideas for possible application.Be sure to get the New Testament version for - the two books make an excellent resource for casual and serious Bible students!

Where's the hebrew?
Easy to read. But where's the Hebrew? I don't agree with some of the commentary....would have liked the book better with "just the facts" and some Hebrew!

Interesting, but flawed.
This series of devotionals makes for an enjoyable read alongside a systematic reading of Scripture. However, it should be appreciated out of which pigeon hole this author has flown. He has a fundamentalist mindset as illustrated by his use of the KJV and his fanatical advocacy of Young Earth Creationism. More seriously, his understanding of hermeneutics and linguistics is flawed. For example, he tends to fall for the etymological fallacy and he often does not research adequately the usage of words e.g. his insistence that bara' must mean creatio ex nihilo - not that there is anything wrong with the doctrine! Consequently, it works well enough as a simple devotional, but not as a reliable reference work. For that it is better to stick with the regular modern lexicons against which all his assertions should be checked.
