A big help!
I have dealt with cracked heels for years, at times so bad it hurt to walk. I have used a multitude of creams and some have helped. I would put them on at night and wear socks, but after a couple of hours would wake up and be too hot (and take the socks off). I decided to try this because of the other great reviews + it doesn't cover the whole foot (so maybe it wouldn't be as hot). So far I am finding the other reviews to be pretty accurate. The gel is only in the heel area (a bit bigger than the white section in the picture). I have found it to provide adequate coverage. They are a bit awkward to walk in, so I suggest putting them on as you are getting in bed. In addition to these socks, I have been using a foot file and applying lotion before putting the socks on. It's only been a few days but my heels are well on the way to healing - best they have looked & felt in a long time! I am currently wearing these every night, but may change to more of a maintenance mode (every other night) once I am happy with the condition of my heels.Regarding the fit - I can see where someone with larger feet may feel these are uncomfortable or tight. I wear a women's 8.5 and these fit great. I am going to handwash only to prevent them from shrinking and avoid the damage that the washer/dryer could cause. If you suffer from dry feet & cracked heels, I would definetely recommend trying these.

great for keeping foot lotion in place; fit a size 7 foot quite well
I do foot peels every couple of months but my heels still get rough and cracked. Of course I don't want that in sandal season. I have had some gel heel socks in the past that worked well for me, but they do wear out after a time, so I bought these. (I have a nail fungus issue at the moment due to an injury, so I wanted something with the toes not covered.)I am happy with these. I wear a women's size 7 shoe and these stayed on my foot perfectly. I think you could go up or down a shoe size or two from that and they would still fit. I actually put some foot cream on and then put these on over it. The gel kept the foot cream from getting absorbed by the socks. I was able to walk around the house easily (although it does take some getting used to -- the gel makes you *think* you are going to slip but really, as long as you aren't reckless, you can walk normally). I could even slip some Birkenstocks on over them so I could take the dog out.My feet were so soft after I took these off. Not perfect after one use, but I saw at least 25% improvement right away.Anyway, these did exactly what I hoped, they fit, and they didn't cost an arm and a leg, so I am satisfied with my purchase. I would buy these again when it is time for a replacement.

Not as tight as some people suggest. UPDATE: These socks are magical. Buy them!
I just received these today. So I can't comment on the efficacy. However I wanted to offer a perspective on size. I almost didn't buy these because of the comments on the tight fit. I'm a large male and I wear a size 12.5 or 13 shoe. So while my feet aren't the biggest ones out there, I was a bit worried when I read someone with a size nine women's foot saying that they are snug. They ARE snug - but not uncomfortably so. It reminds me of wearing an ace bandage or ankle brace that's properly sized - snug, but not uncomfortable. I think I could wear these even if my feet were 1-2 sizes bigger, though it might start getting too tight at that point.I did find that my feet don't slide right in. It helps to roll the top down a bit, and pull them up until the bottom edge is where you want it. Then roll the top into position. If these really solve the problem, I'll be coming back to add another star.UPDATE: These things are magical. I've never been able to resolve the deep, painful cracks in my heels during the winter. I've used every cream, lotion, ointment and bandage I could find. I'm talking about cracks that were over 1/4 inch deep and bleeding. Wearing these for just a few days caused the cracks to heal to the point where it no longer hurt. Within a week or two they were gone. I now wear them periodically to keep my heels in good shape.

Wow, my heels are healed.
Gee, who knew that wearing sandals all the time would dry and crack my heels and bottom of my feet to the point of bleeding? I would use cuticle scissors to cut off the pieces of skin that would peel away - looked like my heels went through a grater. I have tried many lotions/creams (with petroleum, urea and/or salicylic acid), heel sticks, ped egg, exfoliants, pumice stone, etc... Nothing helped longer than it took for the cream to soak in and then it was back to cracked heels. I knew wearing shoes and socks would be a savior but it's a little toasty for a good part of the year in Phoenix.I finally stumbled upon these heel sleeves on Amazon and since they did not cover my entire foot I thought I could give them a try. They really have done a wonderful job of healing my heels and the bottom of my feet. Since they do not cover my toes, my big to is still a dry and callused but they respond effectively with the pumice stone. My program includes soaking and washing my feet before applying Earth Therapeutics Intensive Heel Repair Moisturizing Balm and once that is soaked in I put on my heel sleeves whenever I can. I first started with sleeping with them for 5 nights and the healing results were quite surprising. My feet are not completely perfect but pretty darn good. I'm not ashamed to show my feet in sandals. I now just maintain with wearing the sleeves every other evening while channel or internet surfing after work until I hit the hay.I purchased 2 pairs so I could rotate them for cleaning - I just wash them lightly in the sink with a little Woolite and air dry. I highly recommend giving these a try.

It really works!
I have dry cracked heel in winter mostly, I must say this made a huge difference after just one night even without putting any kind of cream on my heel. I am a size 10 and the fit is a little tight but is not uncomfortable. The results also lasts longer than with foot creams. Once a week looks to be enough for me, so if you have a really bad condition, my guess is that if you use it daily or every other day, you will solve your cracked heel problem completely.

BEST THING EVER!
BEST THING EVER! I have suffered with painful cracked heels that would bleed and would force me to walk on tiptoe for years. Now if I have a crack in my heel, i put these on and within 15 minutes or less I am back to walking normally with no pain. These make my heels very soft and allow my cracked heels to heal. I only have to wear them every second or third night to maintain the softness. The cream included is nice, but really not needed as the gel does exactly what is needed on its own.

Worked excellent, provided relief
Used for two weeks straight at bedtime until morning together with cream for extreme dry feet with fissures. Worked excellent, provided relief. Only reason didn't give 5 stars was that they are now worn out, have to order more

Four Stars
this alone wont treat your heel. partner it with an ointment or lotion, it will work wonders.
