I've owned an iPad 3, Tab S2 9.7 and have a ZenPad 3 10 and this little beauty is a good or better than all of them. Since it's my backup tablet, I settled for 3 GB RAM and 32 GB ROM, but the 2560 x 1600 display blows away the Retina displays on all 3 of the other machines; they were ONLY 2048 x 1536. People have said that the 5 point touch is laggy, but I don't see that. I have a Chuwi Hi8 that's 4 yrs old and I love it, so that's why I went back to Chuwi. Quality on it was good; build on Hi9 Pro is even better and it comes with 8.0 Oreo installed. Easy to set up and it will use CGM or WDMA SIM for phone. I don't have a cellphone yet, but the Hi9 Pro will be my cell when I finally break down and get one. It actually supports 2 SIMS if you don't need an SD card. All this for $139.99. As far as I'm concerned it should get 6 stars. Review: A good tablet, but not for gaming. - This tablet is good for what it is, and a great bargain. I mostly use it for internet and video playback, on WiFi or the T-Mobile network. Pros: Connects beautifully on band 4 for T-Mobile (the band they share with MetroPCS and Verizon), getting about 10 Mbps throughput on half signal. I just put in the APN, and it was up and running. The WiFi works really well. Regularly get 300 Mbps at home/work, and the range is really good. The screen is really nice for watching video/reading web pages. I am extremely far-sighted, and the ability to adjust the resolution on this tablet is fantastic. Although it is not stated, the tablet is MediaTek "Pump Express" compatible. Using a compatible charger (mine is from a Ulefone Armor 2), tablet goes to full charge in under 2 hours... Although, it gets pretty hot when charging, but not too hot when powering it off before plugging it in. Cons: The charger sent with the tablet is complete crap. This is not a gaming tablet. The screen refresh rate is a joke at 50Hz, making most games seem choppy and slow. The video processor isn't much better. The Mali T880 has seen its day, and that was a about 3 years ago... Although the tablet connects fine to LTE 2,4, and 7, as well as 3G on T-Mobile, it is curious as to why it does not connect to LTE band 12. Considering it is in the same band range as 17, it must be locked out by the software, as the hardware supports it. Either way band 12 is not listed, so it is not completely unexpected. Either way this tablet is out of date, and hopefully will be replaced with a more recent design for the general consumers soon. This size is perfect for commuters, and MediaTek's newer processors, like the P70/Mali G72, are much more powerful, and better suited to gaming when paired to the proper display...

This would be the best 8 inch table out there, if it just worked
Cons: Unstable hardware. Will not stay up. Apps abend with high frequency. Tablet takes a reboot now and then when starting something like Gmail or chrome. I tried replacing the launcher with Nova: nothing. I rebuilt it twice. No difference. I went into the firmware and did a full wipe: no difference. I am moderately sure that this is a RAM issue. Also, not a lot of third-party cases for it: Nothing from Poetic or Fintie I could find for example. Runs Android 8 with the October 2018 security update, and no amount of pressing update made that more current. Pros: Fast, beautiful screen. OK speakers. Worked with my t-Mobile SIM. Great form factor. Build quality seemed solid: nothing rattled. predicted battery life by the battery app I use said 7 hours. never got there. I was able to get youtube to run without crashing for a while, and it was just beautiful. This was my second CHUWI table (the first being a Windows 10 device) and the screens are amazing. The Windows 10 device lasted less than six months and this one does not work out of the box and that makes sad because if this just worked, it would be perfect. Even with the back level security, I would love it. Spec-wise it is so much better than anything else on the market in the 8-inch form factor. It hurts my heart to see so much device potential being put back in a box to be returned. This was supposed to replace my 2013 Google Nexus 7 inch tablet, which has no battery life left and screen rotation quit working. The hunt resumes: I wish I could get a Euro-spec Galaxy Tab 8 inch here: The one with the note pen. Better screen than the low spec US one. Worst case: Apple's new iPad with the A12 chip. A cellular version available and it is fast. Update: refund was quickly issued. I wish it had worked. It was lovely hardware. The screen was really amazing.
