I generally never end up writing reviews of products...but this experience of mine with these pencils just had to be penned down...Being a mother of a almost 4 year old boy, I had some serious issues with my child's pencil grip. He almost always used to pinch the pencil incorrectly even after correcting it every single time. I first assumed that it would get better with age, but it was only going from bad to worse. He started turning his wrist towards himself to write and writing with all 3 fingers on top of the pencil, which in turn was hurting his hand and it made him very disinterested in writing.After loads of trial and error with smaller sized golf pencils, Doms groove pencil, triangular shaped pencils i stumbled upon these while doing my research.I ordered it right away knowing that they were quite expensive, but I had to give them a shot as these were his formative years and the change had to be brought immediately.And believe me I can't thank Stabilo enough for making them. They worked brilliantly. With just the correct thickness and those perfectly made grooves, these pencils worked like magic. Now my son just knew from where and how to hold it correctly. Whenever his grasp changed, he would himself correct it by following the indentations. His hands do not hurt now and he looks forward to write with them. From that day onwards there was no looking back. We both are now in love with them.I believe these pencils are a must buy for each and every parent of 3 to 5 year old. Even if your child holds the pencil correctly, this pencil will just reinforce that grip and make it stronger.Also schools too should encourage them in nursery and kindergarten classes.They are a boon, especially for parents like us.Thanks so so much Stabilo, these are simply superb.P.S. They are thicker pencils so a regular sharpner doesn't fit. Make sure to use any 2 hole sharpners available in the market like Steadtler, Maped etc which have one regular size hole and the other for thicker pencils or crayons.

Pencil is good but very costly Not value for money.

It's Good for beginners and gives good grip but price is too High

Good quality product. A lot different than usual pencils. Very good quality. Strong and dark led. You can't use regular sharpener. You need a bigger one or you can use blade. This is the only product I found after searching a lot. Very very useful for toddlers and preschoolers who are starting to learn writing. Usual thin pencils are difficult for them to hold. Thicker ones are easy to hold and write. Actually they need bigger ones than this. But I couldn't find any. So I bought this. One star less because of the high price. Can't buy it regularly. Really liked the product. Good packing and great service from Amazon. Thank you all. Hope my review helps other moms and dads.

Quality and finishing is great but on a costlier side

I have tried other thicker pencils for the kids but the grooves on these somehow make them easier to hold and work with. Hats off to the innovation and brilliance.As to the sharpener, any double hole sharpener would do, like Maped or Staedtler. Although, I prefer the jumbo colored pencil sharpener from Staedtler works the best as it doesn't sharpen the pencils to a long point (harder for little hands to steer). This particular sharpener comes with their jumbo color pencil set.Even the cosmetic sharpeners might work, the ones that have the thick pencil hole too.

The grip pencil is super convenient for kids with a writing problem. My kiddo started to love writing once I bought these pencils. The amount of innovation, design & R&D that has gone in shaping these pencils is fantastic. They also have gripper pens from this brand. Excellent for pre-school & primary school kids.

Fantastic product . My lo grip improved immediately after using these. Pencil age way darker and smooth than any local brands. Well designed product.
