Osmo Polyx-Oil - 3031 Clear Matte - .75 Liter

There's a certain charm in wooden furniture that's enhanced when treated right. The Osmo Polyx-Oil proved to be the perfect companion for my DIY projects. I have used it on a variety of surfaces including desktops, countertops, and other wood furniture around my home, and the results have been nothing short of impressive. The application was a breeze. Even for someone like me, who isn’t a professional, the process was straightforward and quite forgiving. The claim that it's easy to apply isn’t just a marketing gimmick, it’s the truth. I used a brush for most parts and the oil spread smoothly, covering the wood nicely. There was no need for any buffing, which saved a lot of time and effort. The finish is beautiful and has a matte elegance that elevates the natural look of the wood. It's not just about aesthetics; the protection it offers is commendable. The treated surfaces have endured daily use, showing great resistance to water, dirt, and common household spills like coffee and juice. I haven’t had to redo any of the surfaces yet, but the fact that it can be spot-repaired without sanding is a huge bonus. Such a great finish, easy to apply, easy to repair. Put it on a bench made 8 years ago and with all the abuse it still looks like it is new. Decided to use it on the pine flooring of our baby room.

I had floating shelves built for the house and finished it with Osmo; this stuff is amazing and brought out the true beauty of the wood! I then had a custom coffee table built and also used Osmo - IT IS GORGEOUS!! Highly recommend this product for any wood finish. It's easy to use and easy to maintain.

Great non toxic sealant! Very easy to apply. I’m very sensitive to chemical smells and fragrances and get a headache if it’s kind of toxic and I didn’t mind the smell of this. It’s a little pricey but one can has lasted for a number of house carpentry projects.

This product is great. Extremely easy to apply and is all natural with very minimal scent. Quick drying (considering) and love that if you make a mistake, after it dries spot sand and reapply. Make sure to use gloves and per other people’s utube videos don’t sand smoother then a 320 grit. I’m definitely going to be using for other projects. Also, I was worried when Amazon showed that it was getting shipped with my espresso pods but as you can see it was well sealed.

I used OSMO to refinish a 20-year old dining table made of cherry. It was certainly easier to apply than lacquer, but more challenging than a penetrating oil such as Maloof's; it all has to do with how quickly it dries and if it streaks. OSMO does not dry too fast of you work quickly, but because it dries reasonable hard, you have to be careful not to leave any on the surface or you run the risk of the surface being uneven. That said, I was able to 'sand' away imperfections with white or gray non-abrasive Scotch-brite pads without much trouble. It dries reasonably fast, so without trying to rush things I was able to apply 2 coats per day. After the 4th coat cured for a few days, I applied some past wax and buffed it out with the random orbital sander. The surface was as transparent as glass. Perhaps because I had sealed the table with diluted, clear non-waxed shellac prior to applying OSMO, the OSMO imparted very little color onto the cherry, which is what I was hoping for; letting the natural beauty of the cherry show through. The surface is definitely harder than penetrating oil. But that's the tradeoff: I think the penetrating oil looks and feels more natural, but is not as protective as I suspect the OSMO will be; which is what I need on this hard working dining table.
