EDIT: wow!! WORKS GREAT. A FEW SUGGESTIONS FOR MANUFACTURER.
Edit: ***Day 1: LOVE IT. Works as described, no water filtration warming so it’s ok if it becomes empty, small and low profile, but holds a lot of water (more than a “common” birdbath). Keeps temp at a nice lukewarm temp and this, doesn’t break your energy bill by heating alllll the time. PROS: MANY. CONS: few, and they’re more suggestions for the manufacturer. Cable is short but I understand why. Bath part is totally removable easily from stand—maybe too easily. Stand is ok but very wobbly—must use stakes included. Suggestions: add solar charging for even better efficiency and to reduce electric use, add an option or make another bath that’s capable of being set on the ground, add or make capable of using solar and rechargeable batteries instead of electricity to avoid having to run many feet of outdoor extension cord to further or more remote locations. (In a licensed wildlife rehabber and have been lookin for a way to keep water in liquid form during the winter for my released that are on remote land rather than having to carry gallons of warm water out there daily and nightly. Yes, I would still have to carry water out there to fill the baths but but as frequently).*** Don’t hesitate buying this. Get it. It takes close to a gallon of water which is a LOT for a birdbath, which is a very small amount of water in regards to keeping it from freezing. In Chicago, it was NEGATIVE 60 winchills, breaking records of lowest temperatures ever throughout history. The ice age lasted several days. This birdbath did NOT FREEZE!!! And it survived the frigid and uninhabitable temps. VERY IMPRESSED.

Works like a charm!
We bought this heated bird bath in order to provide fresh water for the incoming birds when they arrive at the feeder. Last night I set it up in -10F weather. Taking advantage of the sub zero freezing temperature, I poured water on the snow at the bottom of the legs and then tamped down the snow slush onto the legs and pinned it to the ground. It is frozen in place and won't move until the spring thaw! I filled it with 2 quarts of water and let it run through the night...This morning I checked on the bird bath...it's working like a charm! Check out the frost on the rim, formed from the steam lifting from the surface of the water. The water is not warm to the touch, but is cold, yet so much warmer than the -4F air temp this morning.According to the manufacturer, this bird bath uses the same energy as a 50 watt light bulb and is thermostatically controlled to kick on only when needed AND has a safety feature to turn off if no water is on the basin. This bird bath will provide us great peace of mind and provide the birds much needed fresh water when they come into feed. I cannot recommend this highly enough! I will update review as the winter continues.Regarding the assembly: It was a bit fussy to put together, but you don't need a degree in engineering. I used Gorilla Tape to adhere the frame to the underside of the basin so it wouldn't slip out/off. I also used Gorilla Tape to adhere the cord to the shaft of the frame to secure it. Loss of one star for not providing a better way to attach the frame to the basin.

Do NOT waste your money.
When I bought my first one of these very same birdbaths in 2010, there were screws that went directly into the three pieces of the tripod stand and it held together nicely over the years. With the element giving out, I bought a new one in Jan 2022. If I had known what a terrible redesign of the stand had been, I would not have purchased it. Now there is a bracket where the 6 individual pieces slip in, but do not lock in, and only external screws that are supposed to hold all three pieces tightly. They tighten the sleeve but do not go into the individual pieces. As much as I tightened them, the pieces continually slipped out of the bracket. This is the worst-designed tripod for the birdbath that I have ever encountered. Just horrible. The plastic birdbath itself is very good, but I would not advise getting it due to the horrible tripod stand. I had to use a yard of Gorilla tape just to hold the pieces to the bracket. In the old design, everything screwed together nicely and quite tightly. Not so with this redesign. Save your money and get a better product. This is just awful.

Finally, a heated bath that's large enough
PROs: I won't have to fill it every day. Textured sides will keep the birdies from slipping. The cord connection is underneath the bowl, protecting it from snow and ice. I gave one to my mom for her birthday.CONS: Assembling would have been less difficult if I'd had a second person helping. A pain to clean: The bowl balances precariously on the three support arms, it doesn't snap in. Then, when I refill it, I have to wiggle and push it around until it's level again. Or at least sort of level and secure.

Assembly beyond difficult
Stand is rickety and assembly is awkward. There’s no good way to get the theee metal base pipes to line up and stay put; same thing for the top. I had to actually use zip ties to hold this thing together. It looks ridiculous. The bath unit doesn’t fit right on the top either. I can’t get it to sit flat no matter what I do. Still deciding whether or not I am going to send it back. Other heated bird baths with a stand are much more expensive and this was the most affordable one. I guess you get what you pay for here!

Buyer Beware!
I can't speak to the function of the electrical component itself because my issue began at the assembly of the stand itself. A very unreliable, cheap and elementary design and good luck to anyone and their attempt to make this stand secure and solid !!

EXCELLENT! -45 Degrees And Birds Are Happy
I was so excited but a bit worried whether it would hold up to the cold weather in Alberta and it has surpassed. Best suitable mounting in the winter (we did) and the birds (our family of finches) have been using it faithfully all day long and everyday. The coldest temperatures we have seen in a long time -35 to -45 and I check daily to refill. The bath had not frozen yet (I am knocking on wood as we speak..lol)! I highly recommend and thank you so much! Birds who usually migrate are singing like it is a tropical day everyday.✨

WARNING - overpriced flimsy metal stand that doesn't fit the bowl
I wanted a bird table with a stand because we have heavy snow here and I thought a stand would be safer than putting the bath on a log or similar place - however - Shock, Horror -1. the metal the stand is made out of is so flimsy that when you attempt to screw the legs together with the provided bracket both the bracket and stand bend - also, you cannot get them screwed tight together so the stand will wobble anyway - and I have some fairly big birds here......2. the instructions say to put the bath on the open ends of the stand - however the open ends of the stand are so mish-shapen that they won't hold the bath - this may be why they were covered with plastic ends but the plastic ends don't grip against the silicon bath either3. The final build will be wobbly - I was unable to fit the bird bath on the stand without it being at an angle4. This quality of the product and the end result have the feel of being someone's first metalwork school project - and building the stand is very easy, it's just the product quality is low5. And after all this - the bird bath is faulty and doesn't work.Unfortunately I was unable to return the product - I thought I was buying from amazon but it was sent by "Golda's Kitchen" who refused to even reply to my request for a refund or replacement. This product is such low quality for the money please don't buy it. You can buy a bowl on it's own for half the price of this piece of junk and that is what I wish I had done - though, like mine, it may be faulty and still not work (try to choose a different type). The words "quality control" do not apply to either the product or the service. AVOID at all costs.Possibly the worst Amazon purchase I have ever made.

The stand is useless piece of garbage.
Stand was impossible to put together , very awkward to assemble, weak and cheap stand. Ended up putting it on an outdoor table, and does work in Canadian weather. So far the birds are avoiding it or have not discovered it.

It’s easy to clean and serves its purpose perfectly!
I bought this heated bird bath in 1999 and it just quit this year!! So I ordered again and am very happy with it. So are the birds and squirrels! It’s just the right size and depth. I put a flat rock in the middle because the smaller birds like to stand on it to drink.
