Does it's job well
I have purchased this packing tape many times and have always found that it does it's job well. It is very sticky and if you lose the end, it can be a challenge to re-start, however, if you feed it through the clips properly, you will not lose the end. The clips and the cutting edge make this tape very easy to use. I like the crystal clear-ness of the tape. I can put it over the address I print on a package and still see through it perfectly. This prevents the address from getting smeared or messed up. I also like that this tape seals well and adheres to all the surfaces I have used it on (mostly paper, cardboard, but also metal and wood on occasion. It holds well and I would recommend this product. (This is my HONEST opinion. I was NOT paid nor compensated for this review in any way.)

Reel good packaging tape and free dispenser.
Sticks to cardboard and shipping labels.Sometimes sticks to your fingers. It's clear, so you can see through it.Stronger than masking tape, and not as much residue as duct tape.Free dispenser. It took me a few boxes to get the hang of this new tape. Be prepared to struggle for a while until you get the feel for the angle and tension required to cut the tape without losing the tail. If you lose the tail, it slaps back onto the roll and disappears like Waldo in a crowd of people. And even when you find it, the battle's not over, because it's a true art to scratch and scratch until you pick it up again, and usually it just starts to tear down the center. But after that, you're golden. This sucker will pretty much hold any box shut, from cereal boxes, on up to refrigerator boxes. I even used it to tape a handwritten address label to an envelope, and again, because it's clear, you could see the address right through the tape. Incredible.Cons: it's somewhat Christmas colored, so you might not want to leave it lying out after January 7th or so. Also, it will run out if you use too much on your envelopes, and sometimes they'll tell you at the post office that it weighs too much and you'll need an extra stamp, but if so, you can tape it on quite easily.

Great dispenser, great tape
No splitting, no tearing, and good hold to the tape! The dispenser is light and easy to use but won't last long. I had to buy a new one because the last one split in two. The plastic is light weight and you have to bend the plastic to get the tape in there. So expect it'll only last 6 months or less if you use it to package shipments daily. Not bad for the price.

I Wasted Precious Life Reading Tape Reviews on Amazon
Let me clear this up for you real quick if you're not willing to lose time on tape: Duck Easy Start and Scotch Sure Start both tape things together. If that is enough for you, feel confident that this product will do your bidding. All I was going to do was buy an 8 pack of packing tape for shipping artworks I sell. But, then Amazon Reviews got in the way. I can't get that time back, but I can spare you by writing this review which I will cross post to Duck EZ Start. There are two major brands out there, Duck and Scotch, and many more. I'd been using a no name tape and it was fine, albeit would occasionally get stuck to the roll as tape is prone to do without a proper dispenser. After reading countless reviews of it's the perfect tape or it doesn't stick, I chose to buy a sample of each. Last night I began my Christmas shipping. Guess what, they both stick! There are some minor differences. Scotch Sure Start is thinner tape than the Duck, although it didn't tear any easier, I was still glad to have the dispenser teeth. The Scotch comes on a true 3" core roll, so you can reuse the dispenser. The tape sticks to cardboard and paper. IF yours doesn't...you must realize that it requires pressure to adhere. Air bubbles, dust, or not pressing down will allow carelessly placed tape to come loose. It's not one and done. I pack artworks -I make sure its stuck, tight, and more than one piece. If you're taping moving boxes with a real dispenser and you don't press tape with your hand, it's going to come loose where it's not stuck to another piece of tape. The Duck EZ Start tape is thicker. Truth told, I used it more on my recent packing. Can't say exactly why, probably it's thickness. But this same thickness, and maybe the dispenser style occasionally twisted up, but not so bad, tore the piece and moved on. As for the Sure and EZ start thing -I did notice that on each brand I did not have to peel tape off the roll. Why? It seems they both leverage anti-static somehow, but I'm no rocket scientist, so who knows. All I can say is generally frustration-free. I'd say more air bubbles on the Duck tape, I attribute that to the thicker tape. And then there is the weird complaint about noise. First off, I'm not packing in a baby's room. So what, there is noise. But yes, the two both make noise when you tightly stretch a long piece around a box. The Duck, for those who concern themselves with the noise, does sound like the long croak of dying frog, but I could make the Scotch to do a similar, if slightly higher pitched version when I pulled real tightly. This difference is likely connected to the tape thickness. So, if you don't want noise, don't pull long pieces of tape tightly. My only frustration with the Duck EZ is the lack of a 3" core, which you can get without the dispenser, so the dispenser becomes a one time use unless you look for the 1.5 inch core rolls. I suspect Duck EZ in 3" core will fit on the Scotch dispenser, and I'll end up using that no matter which brand I buy. Hope that helps -it's a pandemic, be with your work and the ones you love and buy this tape or that tape -it works when you press it down and enjoy the sound of frogs.

Good dispenser and decent tape
Bought this for the dispenser. It does the job well. The tape is decent. I only buy the cheapest tape at the store and this one is a little thicker but less sticky. If your package is fragile add more tape. I feel this dispenser is more ergonomic, easy to use but cheaply made like the rest.

Best Tape I've Ever Used
The best thing about this tape is being able to dispense it. Traditional packaging tape dispensers are cumbersome and the tape always seems to get stuck between in the roller area. They're also heavy. This 3M dispenser is compact and lightweight. The tape is also silky SMOOTH! It comes out extremely easily and you don't have to force anything. This is not the strongest hold for a tape I used. However, it's good to the point where it doesn't matter. I've used weak tape and this isn't close to that.I sell items online and package things several times a month at least. I will continue to use this long term and ditch the traditional tape dispensers and annoying tape.

Finally Settle on This As My Main Packing Tape
I don't ship too many things, but from time to time I need tape for eBay sales and Amazon returns (lol). I was buying Gorilla brand tape and it's really good. Really thick, with monster adhesion. But it's expensive, and there isn't much tape on the roll. I decided to buy a roll of this Scotch packing tape and it sticks well, it's a bit thinner, but you get a ton of it. I think I'll be using this going forward because there's just so much of it, and unless I'm shipping something really heavy, this will hold fine.
