Art and Architecture of Insects

Every home with kids must have a copy of this wonderful book. It reveals, in an easy to read narrative, a world of tiny insects most of us are unaware of and the pictures (electron photomicrographs) are amazing. BUT it's not just for kids, every adult will be fascinated and enjoy it - it's just that the kids whole lives will be enhanced by learning about this stuff while they are young.

This is positively the best work using electron microscopy on insects that I have seen. . The images reveal much about the insects' anatomy, down to the smallest detail of setae, scales, integument. (Not only that they are beautiful!) The text is excellent. I recommend this for all interested in insects, including professional biologists.

This book is beautiful and well-written. I love this book. Amazing. Why does amazon make me add a specific amount of words? That's annoying.

If you love your insects, you’ll be spellbound. This is a whole new world! If you don’t, errrm ....

All the photos are from scanning electron microscopes and present detail that most of us will never see in our daily lives. The descriptions add perfectly to the photos giving an understanding that inspires a curiosity for more. Highly recommended.
