Storytelling at is best.
What a great read, loved all the information as well as the suspense. The ex husband and ex wife working together as a team was brilliant. Would working together pull them apart even further or bring them closer. Looking forward to reading more books by this author.

fascinating, interesting story.
The story is fast paced, interesting and compelling. I could hardly put it down. The historical facts surrounding the story add greater understanding of the history it is explaining. I can hardly wait to read another in the Chris Bronson saga.

Good, fast paced, but plot feels a little contrived
Fundamentally a good, fast paced thriller about a policeman sent to investigate the killings of a British couple in Morocco. There he picks up a trail that ultimately leads to the tablets Moses received from God.A couple of things don't quite sit right though. Firstly, there are two sets of baddies, one of which is somewhat superfluous to the story. The second lot seem to have paid informants in just about every city in the world, despite being arab fighters against Israel who are seeking the hidden treasures in order to fund their battle. If they need the money so badly, how come they manage to corrupt the many, often high level, officials and citizens that are quick to feed them information and provide assistance? The second 'bad feeling' comes from the two groups actually leading the chase for the hidden artifacts. These items have been hidden for literally thousands of years, however somehow both groups independently follow the same paths (sometimes erroneously) and arriving at the end of those paths at the same time. Some coincidence.Otherwise an enjoyable romp.

Chris and Angela at it again.
Mr. Becker is a formula writer. Basically he writes the same book over and over again, with slightly different villains, slightly different plots, and the same or very similar protagonists. Nevertheless I find his books enjoyable and am always looking forward to the next one.For one thing, there's a glut of trivial information about this and that, and I like trivia, especially about real events and real places. For another, the author's attitude toward the received wisdom of the ages varies from book to book, but is always somehow curmudgeonly, and I like curmudgeons. The goal this time around is to find the original stones on which the Ten Commandments were inscribed, and to find them before the bad guys do. As always, the bad guys make this very difficult but the good guys (or rather the good guy and gal, named Chris and Angela) always manage to survive and even thrive, while the bad guys meet appropriate ends, only to be replaced by similar bad guys in the next book.I'm deliberately making this sound shallow and contrived, because it is. Both. But somehow it's fun anyway. If you like the adventure stories of Dan Brown you will probably like these too. Not as witty, not as intricately plotted, not as breathlessly suspenseful, but somehow always effective. I recommend the books of James Becker, including this one.
