Homes, Sweet Homes
Most interior decorating books are little more than eye candy. You leaf through them once or twice and then put them on the bottom bookshelf to gather dust. "Tom Scheerer Decorates" is in a whole different class. It's not only a very pretty page turner, it's also an aesthetic resource you'll return to again and again as you think about creating a room from scratch or tweaking what you already have. Scheerer's houses are immediately liveable. They're not to be ogled, they're to feel comfortable in. If there's such a quality as impeccable cheeriness, it's here. The colors are fresh, sometimes surprising, and invariably just right for the particular geography and function. The furniture, art and objects are balanced but not stiff. An appreciation of the past - the pull of memory - mingles seamlessly with the modern. (Think Thonet Bentwood with Eero Saarinen.) No glitz, no trendy, no pretension. Actually, the book is a misnomer - it's not about decorating well, it's about living well.

My Favorite Designer!
This will be a coffee table book/book that will be very loved in my home. I will revisit this book often especially when I want to feel Tom's zen-like design with his ability to bring out the owner/space with a clean, but more playful personality. Even when the book cover needs to be thrown away from so much viewing, the bound book is so cool with its rattan design. That will make a statement by itself. Mr. Scheerer has decorated two friend's homes in harbour island and I long for the invitation to their home so I can soak up the beauty he created with pecky cypress, island aesthetic, colors plucked from the pink sands and blue and purple sky. It is the only design book that I studied not only the pictures but the words written on each page. I love Tom Scheerer, oh and this book.

Stunning
This book is a real page turner - one beautiful page after another. I knew the guy was talented but WOW this composition of his works really blew me away. This book is A MUST for any design library and is gorgeous inside & out (take off the outside cover & be pleasantly surprised by the beautiful texture/pattern on the binding of the book) - no detail was left unconsidered! STUNNING, buy it now!

Scheerer organizes a room as if he's creating a beautiful peaceful painting.
He is the master of mixing classic older furniture with classic and not necessarily expensive new pieces. For strong beautiful rooms that feel both homey and truly elegant, it's worth studying the design of each of the photos in this book in terms of color, brightness, shape, and even height.

This is a great, great book, I am not tired of it, I feel like looking at it again and again and when I do, it feels new all over again! In a market over saturated with design ideas and free design blogs it is seriously amazing to find a book that I can say this about, all the other reviewers are right about this one, great find and buy!

Beautiful design book
Tom Scheerer does a lovely job putting together his first book - well photographed, thoughfully laid out, beautiful and inspired design work - a "must" for the shelves of any of us who have an interest and passion in design! Well done, Tom Sheerer. - Suzanne Tucker, San Francisco

As good as design gets
Such a great pleasure, to see page after page of interiors that are reflective both of Mr. Scheerer's laudable talent, as well as the lives lived within. Nothing feels forced or extraneous, or placed to impress - humble and haughty exist side-by-side, the one elevating the other!
