I have an older watch that I purchased from a company in my home town, and because I purchased it from them, they've always taken care of sizing and all other repairs for free. They closed down a few years ago. With this kit, I was able to resize the band thanks to the extra cotter pins that came with it. It saves some money since it is fairly easy to do.

I bought this product after having left a jeweler who was unable to remove pins from a brand new watch that I purchased. This guy broke 3 of his pins which were loaded into some sort of a gun that was supposed to push out the pins that were in my watch. I was there for about 20 minutes. Not only did this guy cut himself but he broke three of his pins trying to remove three of my pins from this watch. At first I thought that the watch that I bought was not gold but in fact some form of indestructible titanium or something along those lines. Then I went to Amazon and bought this product here. Let me put it like this, I will never go back to that jeweler again. Why you should: This little kit comes with so many fantastic options in order to work on your jewelry. I think it has five or six different functions in such a small package. It is easy to use, excellent value-for-money and extremely sturdy. This little kit will last you a lifetime. I've actually considered buying one and bringing it to the jeweler that I mentioned above because he was obviously using a much inferior product (which also leads me to wonder if he knows what he's doing as far as being a jeweler at all). Why you shouldn't: if you like aggravation, like depending on other people, like spending money and time that you don't need to and enjoy frustration then you should not purchase this product. In my opinion every person should own one of these kits and I would highly recommend it to anyone well before I recommended the jeweler that I originally went to.

I picked up this watch band strap link pin remover kit so I could size my own metal bracelets at home and it has done the job very well. (Disclaimer: one of my first jobs was in a watch repair shop inside Sears and we had professional tools that I learned to use there.) So I ordered this cause over the past couple years I have grown tired of the cost of local watch repairs for the simplest of jobs that honestly take only a few minutes - and being told it would take an hour (and charging way too much) with no orders ahead of mine. Anyway - I was excited to get this. Opened it up looked inside and thought nicely packed array of tools and accessories. Grabbed my new watch to adjust the band. It has pins not screws and the Watch Band Link Remover was the first choice to do this. Right off the bat I realized it was going to be challenging as the base did not raise up high enough to keep my band level, so I used some thin cardboard to raise it up and that looked like it would do the trick - UNTIL I started turning the side wheel and saw as it was pushing the pin, the needle started to immediately bend as you can see in the photos. Three. That’s the amount of pins (now I know why they included a little baggie of 7 extras…) that bent. I gave up and used the included tools to go old school. Used the little push tool in the last photo, with the little hammer and stood it on its side on a cutting board with a little ridge and pounded it out. To put the pins in after removing the link, I did the reverse. Watch band adjustment done in like 2 minutes. But that’s after I wasted almost 15 trying to finagle this Watch Bank Link Remover - which in theory is correct. But the quality of the pin and the base of it not raising up high enough - makes this piece useless to me. With the tools I was able to get the job done - but that raises the price and lessens the value since I paid for that tool with accessories - not the other way around. Pretty disappointed in the piece - but glad to have the tools.

When I purchases a new Citizen watch I knew that I would have to adjust the band to fit my wrist. This tool kit served my needs very well. The tools provided in the kit are not professional grade but they certainly met my needs. Yes, the watch band holder, with the threaded height adjuster is somewhat flimsy but a cardboard shim (or two) is all that's needed to enable the holder to be functional. All of the other peripherals (pins and pin removers) are helpful and should allow the tool kit to be useful fro virtually all watch bands (and brands). Recommended.

I think it had all the pieces. Worked for me to take some links out of Seiko Speedtimer bracelet. But can also use to take off the bracelet.
