Perfect lock for our gate - and no batteries needed!
Worked great for my needs. Can be used for a gate that hinges inward or outward and in my case our gate was an outward one. Directions were good and it was an easy install once you read through the directions and understand how it works (was my first time doing one of these). And no batteries on an outdoor lock device the is exposed to the elements is a huge bonus in my opinion.

Solid lock
Works well and relatively easy to install. I bought a second one for out other gate and would recommend.

Easy for an inward opening gate, otherwise...
[Note: long review but it might be worth the read, as the installation may be a long project!] We keep the gates to our backyard locked, as a deterrent to burglars ("too much trouble, so I'll move on to another house") as suggested by our county constable. Also, this is a more secure safety precaution for our swimming pool, as the usual childproof latches are too easily overcome. Padlocks on the outside work, but if you're on the inside, you may have to walk through the house to get to the front yard. Kind of a pain for yard work. We need a lock from the outside that we can open from the inside. There are other, expensive, ways to do it, but this seemed a good compromise. However, if you have an outside-opening gate, be prepared to be creative and a problem solver. The included instructions are OK, if your fence and gate are like the instructions assume. Note you may need an extra-long drill bit at one point. If your gate opens outward, you may find the installation challenging. I know I did. Various pieces and strips of wood: 2x4, 1x4, 1x2, and wood screws of varying lengths to supplement those included. I had most but needed a long 1x2 to fill a gap between the gate and post, so one trip to the hardware store was necessary. My final "design" comes under "necessity is the mother of invention." It's a bit "junky-looking", as I favored function over form, but only from the inside. The public side looks fine.Once done, it works as intended with one caveat: Don't expect security comparable to a hasp and padlock. A determined trespasser may defeat it with brute force. However, in my case, this is where an outward opening gate may have a slight advantage, since one cannot apply as much force pulling a gate (or door) as pushing. That's especially true if this is the only handle on the outside, as you have to unlock the combination to even have anything to grip.Bottom line: All things considered, I would still buy this gate lock.

Works reasonably well, not perfect
Overall, it does what it is supposed to do. You can open gate from both sides and you can set up a code to open from outside, so problems there. It's a bit flimsy. A few strong kicks will break it. If you have an open fence - it's probably ok. But if you want something more secure - you can buy a more stronger latch with a cord and use it with the code panel.

Works well
Works very well for its designed purpose. No battery, weather proof. Installation was a breeze. Perfect.

Good product but terrible service
My review is for my purchase/return experience with the company and their support (by the president Don) more than the actual product which once we finally received the right one works well. The lock I received was wrong, it did not have the sliding cover over the numbers on the outside of the gate so if we set the code so we can go in and out while working outside anyone can see it so we have to lock it every single time. It also did not have the plastic cover on the inside which was the issue I noticed first. I was busy when I received it and thought maybe I'd ordered one without the slide cover but knew it was supposed to have the plastic cover on the inside, upon reviewing the listing it should have had both.Anyhow this is the series of events trying to get this resolved with Yardlock support (the president of the company)...Timeline:June '21 - received the lockset and had a carpenter install it. After install I saw there was no plastic cover on the inside of the fence and spoke with him about it. He thought maybe he misplaced it and contacted Yardlock support. He was told they'd send him a new back cover. We waited and waited with nothing. He contacted multiple times and was told it was shipped and should arrive - it never did.September '21 - After waiting months for the parts to arrive and being outside of the Amazon return window I reviewed the listing and realized that it WAS supposed to have the slide cover on the front. I sent a message to their support and got a response from the companies president Don. Don asked for photos which I supplied, clearly the wrong lock in the first place. After a back and forth and providing multiple photos I did not hear from Don again for weeks...October '21 - after sending photos and messaging several times over 3 weeks Don responds back with "How can I help you?" - our entire conversation history was in the thread that he'd not responded to for over 3 weeks. Again no response for another 5 days. Finally Don says on Oct 13th he mailed a new lock a couple of weeks agoDecember '21 - Not having received anything, supposedly shipped from Canada to the US end of September per our email thread, I contacted again and 3 days later having not heard back I contacted once again expressing my frustration since at this point it does not seem like either time a shipment was promised anything was actually shipped. I've received several packages from countries much further than Canada which I ordered since this was supposed to have shipped. Don's response this time was "Parts were mailed to you as promised. Since your installer did such a poor job installing and loosing parts, maybe get him to buy you a new kit." Obviously Don does not really care and hasn't paid attention, the lock was wrong whether the installer lost the inner cover or not. My frustration after 6 months is understandable and his reaction is ridiculous. At this point I said I gave up and would leave a review on Amazon - magically now Don says he's mailing a replacement. I did receive the replacement and it works great, but my overall negative review of the experience and Don's support stands.

Product design flaws
I replaced the same gate lock yet, but encountered a design flaw. The openings for the wire are smaller than the wire gauge.I had to drilled the holes bigger to be able to secure the wire properly.Unnecessary steps to install the lock.To be clear, the lock itself is a great product.
