Twenty-five years ago Baffin Footwear began manufacturing insulated and non-insulated footwear products. While traditional molded boots are suitable for some conditions, they are not ideal for cold temperatures. Not as warm as advertised. Runs Small.
These boots are really not as warm as they advertise. I used the boots on a 4 day winter camping trip at 12,000 feet around 0*F and I was miserable the entire trip since my feet were so cold. I even added an additional wool insole for added warm which helped but still not sufficient. I think the main problem is that the boots run too small for winter footware. They fit true to size as a summer boot would, however, in the winter you want extra space for warm wool socks. Tight boots cut off circulation which cause cold feet.The boots are not "waterproof" but do keep out the wet snow and ice well. However, if you step in a muddle, river or standing water your feet will get wet!I got these boots at a very cheap price and therefor I've found value in them. However at full price these boots really aren't worth the money. There are boots much better in the price point.

Excellent boots for winter hiking or walking
MY son has a pair for snowmobiling and they work great. I had to borrow them to take the dog out and I fell in love with how well they fit and how easy they are to get on and off (unless you tighten the strings). I use them everyday to walk/hike outside with my dog in the snow. The previous boots I had had no traction so I would be slipping and sliding all over. NOT with these boots! LOVE THEM!

He says best boots he has had
bought for my husband who plows snow in the winter in Michigan. He says best boots he has had, warm, not too heavy and totally water proof. He can wear them all day with just a pair of regular weight cotton socks and not be cold. *Update* Less than a year later and the lace locks are broken, they lasted about two months but that was not a big deal. The big problem is the soles cracked in the tread letting the boots leak, particularly when snow gets packed in them. Calls and emails to the manufacturer were ignored for the most part, when they finally responded they advised me to take it up with the seller. NO customer service at all.

Great Boot - Order a Size Bigger
Excellent boot here. The softshell structure really helps with weight if your going to be out all day. They definitely look cool of course, be sure to order a size larger FOR SURE. I knew this ahead of time so I ordered a 14 on purpose. I normal wear a 13 in normal boots or running shoes, these fit perfectly. These aren't as crazy as the Baffin Hurricane boots but I like these better, less moon-boot effect. I wouldn't pay full retail price for these any day but that's why we're all here on amazon right? =)

Nice well made boot
Nice well made boot. I'm a 10.5 US and ordered an 11 which fits very well with a bit extra space for thick winter socks. As some others have said the lace lock system does not stay tight so simply cut the ends and tie in a bow knot works well. I will be ordering thicker paracord laces to replace the original laces and will work with the lace locks. Comfortable, stiff at first, lots of support.

Fits great! I did read previous reviews and adjusted his normal size up one size to fit as expected. Warm boots!

I would have kept the boots if there were'nt too small. I purchase a pair of Kootenays instead and went with a size larger due to the experience with the Snosport but it seems those were too big... I am ordering a size 13 I will let you know how they compare

Sizing
I wear 10.5 us....after reading reviews ordered 12.....fit fine. Need to order 1 size larger, perfect for me would have been 11.5 but not offered. Very comfortable, light, stable boot.

Great boot, i ordered a full size larger based on the reviews. This was the bare minimum for me, could have gone with a 1.5 size larger to fit winter socks...
