Can you use it to plug in your electric toothbrush?

Although I have never used it( I had a toothbrush wall charger installed instead) i bought it as dual purpose to replace the wall charger if I ever moved. (I don't use a shaver)My electrician installed a similar one in which my husband charges his toothbrush in our other bathroom

Yes there is low frequency hum from the faceplate whilst charging an electric toothbrush / shaver, although it is hardly audible, I wouldn't have noticed it if you hadn't asked the question :-)

Does this product come with the required backplate and if so what is the combined depth of the two?

Hi, These screwless products all come ready to fit into a double pattress box, whether a dry lining box or galvanised steel back box. however you will need a depth of 47mm to accomodate the unit. These screwless products have a front panel which can be carefully removed with a flat bladed screwdriver. The dimentions from the wall to the rear of the socket is 43.4mm and the dimentions from the wall to the front edge of the socket is 4.3mm If you are replacing an existing socket with a screwless one please ensure that you use the screws provided and not the existing ones - the ones provided are flat topped counter sunk, where as existing screws tend to be slighting domed which will stop the front plate sitting properly when fitted.

How to fix this on a pattress box if it is screwless?

The front screwless plate clips onto a backplate which itself screws on to the pattress
