This should be a great product - the ergonomics are good and the serations sharp and its easy to clean but that is where it ends.Unfortunately the manufacturing quality is not good enough - the vital integrity of the spot weld that holds the round central core cutter to the radial slice cutters. Once they fail it is useless, and ours failed when it was 13 months old - nicely timed.Being a mechanical engineer with years of experience of stainless steel spot welding it was easy for me to see what was wrong. The round core is spot welded to the radial arms in four places. So the spot welds must be good, as if they break it will fall apart when you try to core an apple.It was obvious that there was little or no fusion between the parts being welded at all four weld points - lack of weld penetration. It was quite difficult to see the normal evidence of any spot welds; just some very faint marks where they should be, indicating a very poor weld. It was just a matter of time before the central round cutter would have parted company with the rest of the corer - and it did. That explains why you will find lots of reviews where people complain about the centre falling out.It's all down to poor weld quality control. If welded properly the joints that failed should last forever. So this is an inherent manufacturing defect that was present when the product was purchased just over a year ago. It should be possible to claim under statuary rights for a refund as clearly the product is unfit for purpose. But I have found it impossible to figure out how to do that!So if you are thinking of buying this corer take heed. There are lots of good reviews - true; but equally there are plenty of bad ones also. And if all the welds are the same as the ones on mine - why wouldn't they be? - then time and usage will decide for you.The only thing that could change my mind about the star rating of this review is if there had been a way of getting a replacement and the customer service had made up for the shoddy work - but that seems impossible.

Bought this with some trepidation having seen a number of the one-star reviews where it appears to fall apart. however the base was an important factor for me so decided to give it a go. It does seem very solid and it is quite large so makes for easy use, but is more difficult to store. It comes with a lifetime warranty card which if you scan the QR code takes you to a Facebook page with no sign of how to register the warranty - which doesn't inspire confidence. Will update on how we get on with it.

This apple slicer is easy to use,. used it on Apple's and pears both work well, the core tends to stick in centre but easy to push through. Be aware of grated cutting edges

As a denture wearer I cant bite apples but this little gadget means I can, good quality 😁

As an elderly person this was too hard to push down: the cut bruised the apple & both core & individual slices had to be pushed out. Very disappointed not as I expected.

Worked well for 6 months then broke

6 apples in my fruit bowl, 5 people in my family and this thing didn’t do enough apples to feed my family before breaking!
