MAXIMUMCATCH Maxcatch ECO Fly Reel Large Arbor with Diecast Aluminum Body Fly Fishing Reel(3/4wt 5/6wt 7/8wt)

On receiving it (which was prompt), it all looked fine. Only when I when I tried to follow the instructions to change it over because I'm righthand did the problem arise. It was very difficult (well I found it so!). The ballbairings kept falling out on my carpet which is a dark colour, I couldn't see them to pick them up, eventually I found them! That was just one problem. But I won't bore you with the rest!I wanted this reel to put a sinking line on. 100m backing and 95m sinking line. Its a large arbour, and it's not enough room really to wind everything on. So be aware of this.

I purchased this reel for my heavier weight rod that doesn't get a run out very often, so just went for a cheaper option, well I must say what a fantastic bit of kit for the money, smooth, great drag and sits really nicely balanced on the rod, there are some good companies making decent kit for a fair price out there, and Maximum Catch are one of them, would recommend.

Excellent reel for the money - nice design - hold a full 7/8 weight line plus I put 50 yds backing on first easily converts from right hand to left hand with removing a clip and turn over a washer - down side - there's drag taking off line but winding line is a bit loose -

lightweight with good drag mechanism very easy to change from right hand to left hand just need pointed pliers only down side is cant seem to buy spare spools otherwise would have got 5 stars

Unbelievable for the price,I've got 3 eco reel's plus 3 eco spools, all interchangeable no matter the colour, I've had no problems and if I did, I would just buy another silver one anyway, no fisherman pomp here ,a company making an affordable reel,well done Maxcatch, if you get one or more of these reels, put a dab of vaseline on the spindle and top of the spindle hole, spray the spindle hole and drag disc with oil, this keeps it lubricated and working 100 %

An excellent product and service arrived the next day. Used this week in Devon and it performed great plus the pre-loaded line was great too. This reel is great value too.

Quick adjustment on drag. Light reel ( very little extra weight on the rod)If there is a negative it is that I would prefer a little extra pronounced click on the drag, but considering the price , this is only a minor niggle.

Really good for the price, I have the 7/8wt reel accompanied by the Cortland specialist for my Shakespeare supra rod in 6wt 10ft. I caught two trout about 3/4 pound in size on the first day and the drag is consistent, smooth and has a good bearing too. Overall a great purchase. Handle is a bit small, but can be changed via screw ( if you make your own)
