Great clip
The clip works great but it came in the package with grey scratches on it where it should be black and it just seemed broken in

Heavy duty and built to last.
One word: Heavy Duty. Okay, that was two words, but this thing is seriously well built. This is a key ring holder on steroids. I bought this because my previous key ring holder simply clipped onto my belt, and it too easily unclipped itself, coming very close to causing me to lose my keys, along with the holder, while riding my motorcycle. Now I'd first have to lose my belt before the Zak Tool key ring holder could come off. The spring requires a nice, firm, press of the key ring to snap the ring into place, and a firm press of the spring to release the key ring, so there's no way the key ring will accidentally come off. Even Evel Knievel wouldn't have lost his keys had he used this key ring holder. One caveat though, it is thick. By thick, I mean it does stick out from your body a bit more than the cheaper variety of key ring holders. At it's widest thickness, it will stick out from your pants almost 1.25", including the little flare at the bottom loop. This isn't a problem for me, as I never find myself trying to squeeze between a Ferrari F60 America and a Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita parked too closely in my garage. If you happen to have that little, um, "problem", then you probably don't need the Zak Tool key ring holder because you have someone holding your keys for you.

Use mine for quick knife sheath attachment
Works great for me. I have a 1 3/4" belt that is a little over 1/8" thick that is constructed to accommodate concealed carry and it has plenty of room in both width and thickness to fit through this. The metal is plenty robust and it comes with the actual clip itself and a removable key ring. Removing items attached to the clip is easy and can be done with one hand. I'm actually using mine to attach a knife sheath that I have removed the belt loop and replaced it with a key ring. It's a larger knife that I use for camping and only for certain applications around the campsite. This Zak Tool key ring holder allows me to quickly remove and attach when I need to. The materials and build of this key ring holder will have no problem holding your keys securely in place. Make sure to check the dimensions of these within the item's description because it looks like they make different ones to fit both larger utility belts and the everyday adult belts (or as another reviewer put it..."civilian belts"). It's a helpful tool for attaching and removing a knife sheath quickly. It is made out of some pretty durable material and I can't imagine it breaking unless I drop it on the ground and run over it with the truck.

practical key holder- does what it needs to do
Intended use: this item is meant to loop your belt through and use as a key ring holder. It's meant to be easy to remove and attach keys because of its design. This design would be useful in setting where you have a partner at work and they need to borrow a set of keys from you. Perfect example is EMS. Many university first aid squads have sets of swipe cards and keys to campus buildings. One partner usually holds on to them. If your partner needs to step to the side and go open a door for ex, you can't be caught fiddling with a key ring trying to get it off. With this you just depress the front of it and it opens up the loop take of the keys. And if you're worried about the keys falling off...don't be. It's bomb-proof. You could literally drop this thing off a ten story building and it would get just get scratched. Also the loop is under tension due to it's design and won't allow the keys to come off. I consider this an essential to the job. Just like a radio strap or a nice set of shears.

If you think you'll like it, buy it.
LOVE IT.I used to have one of those slip on key ring holders on my belt, I never actually lost it, but I've been afraid I will. This one passes through your belt, and, unless your belt is undone, this won't come off your belt.High quality spring steel, I've put it onto a tool bench, attached it with clamps and put about 50 lbs of force on it without any damage, no bending.I have a large width belt (1.7" wide), commonly referred to as a "riggers belt", it fits my belt perfectly. If your belt is larger then 1.7" or 43.20 mm it won't fit.I'm able to fit 3 key rings on here, but really it works best with only 2 key rings. When there are 3 keyrings it becomes a bit difficult to get off the key ring you are wanting without the others falling off. It does stick out a bit more then the old slip on one I used to have, but it's not a problem at all though, just takes a small bit of getting used to.I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who is interested in this style of key ring holder. I've had it for a month now and used it 100% of the time with no issues at all.

Sturdy and functional
I was previously using leather or nylon loops with an HK clip on it to secure my keys in my pocket. If I could find one that the clip didn’t wear out on, I’d still use that. That being said, this Zak Tool key ring holder is super durable and doesn’t stand off from my belt enough to get in my way on a daily basis, although I would certainly not wear it if I had a backpack on. I read some reviews where people whined about the finish scratching. While there is a little damage to the finish after 6 month to a year of daily use, there isn’t nearly the amount that I would expect from constant metal on metal rubbing. I do have some issues with keys, especially smaller (padlock sized) getting jammed inside the body of the holder, but this is easy to clear.I have difficulty imagining this wearing out, but if it does, I’d buy another one.
