Beware Item not a genuine Microsoft product as implied by the listing. Item is counterfeit. Easily identified from packaging, and poor quality of craftsmanship of product. Returned immediately. Poor quality of components making up items. First photo is of the box it came in. Second is of the short cord with glue coming out of the end fastener. The cord is also deeply indented, resembling a cheap extension like cord. Not a genuine Microsoft cable. The third photo is of the end. Notice the textured cheap plastic, again, not a Microsoft make. The fourth photo is a picture of the charging head. This is from the side. The plastic is so thin, you can see the light coming through the plastic. Genuine Microsoft products are build to where you do not see this.This is an attempted counterfeit product and not a third party product, as the charging box has a "Pro Windows" with a TM beside it sticker on it. The real product bears the name of the actual windows operating system that came installed on he device ( like Windows 7 Pro ETC), not a generic one.

I received this charger for my Surface Pro 2 on July 22nd and from day one it made a high pitched sound while charging my Surface. I also had to keep the cord free from any other surface because it would get hot. It is now day 44 and I plugged my Surface in to charge and got nothing - no led light indicating it is charging, no high pitched sound like before and no overheating power cord. Nothing. I contacted Amazon customer support and through them was able to email the seller. Seller contacted me today and will be sending me a replacement.

Specifically ordered this product as it is a genuine Windows Power adapter, however after only 7 months it no longer works. I have tried to contact both the seller and Amazon but neither have responded. It is disappointing when you spend the extra for a quality product and it ends up lasting just as or not even as long as a generic. You are given a warranty period but are unable to get in touch with anyone when you need to utilize the warranty.

This charger works but it gets HOT! I won't leave my device unattended and when the battery is full I unplug it. It works but I'm nervous so I'm going to look for something else.
