These are chunky grinders that have a very tactile nature to them, making them a pleasure to handle and use. The contrast of natural turned oak and finely moulded concrete has an elemental feel that puts me in mind of rugged landscapes and rocky wooded hills. They accept a decent amount of condiment inside them and the adjustable grinding action is good. I like them a lot.I have the green pair, and these grinders are very Scandi looking and attractive to my eyes. There are two options available - the concrete body and oak top like mine, or a pair made the other way around, with a turned oak grinder body and concrete top. Of the two I recommend the concrete body version, as it keeps the weight lower and makes them more stable. Don't be put off by the word concrete by the way, this isn't rough in any way like the usual stuff! It's smooth, fine and more like an unglazed ceramic to look at or touch.Some folks have complained they received chipped product, but that's a delivery issue. Mine arrived here perfect and intact, and Amazon customer services can always be relied on to rectify any potential shipping issues.

Beautiful product but arrived chipped ( must have been before it was sent as well packaged)Returned it, seller sent back, but looks as though it has been filled and the same one returned ...filled area is shiny ....shame

Arrived with the concrete sides chipped. Seems the were packed this way too as there was no way damage could have happened in transit. Not really good enough seeing how expensive there were. Have returned.

This reminds me of salt and pepper grinders you find in expensive hotels! They are well made easy to use and actually not bad for the price!
