CK Worldwide CK200 Water Cooled TIG Torch Kit, Flex, 250A, 25', 3-Pc, Super-Flex, CK225SF FX

Bought this water-cooled '20-series' TIG torch to replace the air-cooled '17-series' torch I'd been using for the last three years. First, a 20-series water-cooled torch is the same [smallish] size as the 9-series air-cooled torch which is preferable from an overall handling standpoint. Also, water-cooled torches are capable of welding at much higher amperages than air-cooled torches, so this torch covers a considerably broader range of welding projects than would be possible with my air-cooled torches. Lastly, WOW, what a difference a WATER-COOLED torch makes! I was able to weld at higher amperages without stopping to let the torch cool down so I could comfortably handle it. That, in itself, makes a huge difference on fabrication projects where I'm welding for hours on end. As a side note, the plasma cone generated between the tungsten and the workpiece is considerably more visible with this torch than any of the others I've used. That makes the adding of filler rod considerably more efficient since there's no guessing where the edge of the puddle is. Prior to now, I used 'generic' toches, so I imagine that finally buying a [quality] brand name torch has a lot to do with that. Very happy with this torch thus far.

Great addition to my tig. Got a cheap water cooler, (it’s a little loud which is good....I know it’s on!) game changer when welding aluminum.
