J-PEIN Flight Simulator Desk Mount (2-Pack), Heavy Duty Steel Stand for HOTAS Joystick and Throttle Systems

I don’t why it took me so long to get one of these. Very happy with the product and it has definitely elevated my flight sim comfort and experience. It looks handsome in my desk. At $65 for a PAIR it’s a fantastic deal. As far as the product goes: It’s sturdy. In my pictures are VKB gladiators. Not the heaviest but they’re heavy and I have them tensioned hard and the mount does not budge. No sliding, twisting, creaking or anything of the sort. They stay in place. Pulling them out of position pretty much moves my whole desk. I assembled using the Type A or 01 method. They’re a little longer than I’d like but this is minor. I have to commend the maker of this kit. It’s well designed for aluminum extrusions. The fastening kits hold well and the screws don’t strip easily. The universal joystick mount is a smart design and comes with different size screws to fit your kit. My particular table has a frame on the edge of the desk so the clamps were unusable but simply stacking some 5mm plywood to level out the table and the frame fixed this as seen in my pictures . But this is just my weird table and few will have this issue. Some tips: take your time in assembling this. Instructions came in a form of a QR code on the box which takes you to a YouTube assembly video. Watch the entire video before assembling. With the exception of a couple of screws you should screw them in lightly at first as you’ll need to make final adjustments anyway when fitting to your desk. Minimize messing with the screws as aluminum is soft and there’s no need to over tighten. Make sure to connect the extrusions carefully and squarely and you should have a fantastic hotas setup. Really the only thing better than this is an actual rig. Five stars from me. Assembly was a bit long but not difficult.

Alright guys, I feel I need to write this as a public service. You need to have patience and time with the desk mount. No instructions in the box, but there is a QR code to the assembly process. It is super fiddly with the bolts and different pieces, reserve about 45 minutes to put together the first mount and about 25 for the second. The hardest part was trying to get the mounts attached to my joysticks. Don't give up! Once they are all put together and mounted, they are rock sold and should last a lifetime. It's all metal - the only plastic parts are the decorative caps, it's heavy duty. Bottom line - Buy it if you're good with your hands.

I recently picked this up after looking for mounting solutions for my Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS. I was looking at significantly more expensive options out there before I found this one. I decided to pick up one to test it out and see what was in store. When I received the box, it came with a bunch of parts. There's minimal assembly required - it took me 5 minutes to go from opening the box to having mounted Warthog stick on my desk with it. All tools are included! I was really impressed by every single screw being a thumbscrew - and the included Allen key is the only thing you need to get this assembled. The adjustability is seriously impressive - you can adjust the height and depth of exactly where you want your stick or throttle to be. I spent a few minutes playing around with it to get it to exactly where I wanted it to be. All you need to do is loosen a few screws, move the assembly on its rails, and re-tighten! The desk clamp has a rubber surface on the inside top portion of the clamp to prevent your desk from getting harmed. I have an all-white desk and after an intense session of flying the A10-C in DCS World, I saw absolutely no damage to my desk. This is really well-built. It comes with a bunch of adapters for whichever stick and throttle you might have. I mounted my throttle with it and it is stable. My desk will move before the mount ever does. Long story short - this all-steel HOTAS desk mount is an excellent choice if you're looking to mount your stick and/or throttle to your desk! It's really affordable compared to other, more expensive solutions out there and incredibly well-built. Definitely recommend you picking up a pair!

This review does not reflect the actual performance of the product, however I am a little ticked off. I ordered this as a one day delivery and as has become usual, Amazon lost the order. I placed a 2nd order under the risk of being charged 2x becuase I needed a mount. Of course the next day after placing the 2nd order the first order showed up. While the Amazon box was untouched, I could tell there was something wrong. When I opened the box there were pieces strewn everywhere! They sent me a USED unit packaged in ZIPLOCK BAGS!!! There were scratches and clear signs this WAS NOT new! Whoever used this before didnt bother to retape the box leaving parts everywhere! Perhaps the biggest problem is now I am concerned Amazon may see this when I send it back and think I did it! Let's take a moment and look at these pictures. HOW IN THE WORLD does this happen!? How do you charge me full price for such an unprofessional mess!? How did this even make it into the box without it being taped!? Its like a magic trick. There is NO way they did not notice the missing tape. Yet the outside Amazon box was taped and untouched. Anyway, buyer be warned, you may get a used unit in RIPPED ziplock bags after being lost. I've never seen anything like this, and if I do get charged 2x I am taking it to the bank. The unit may be fine or it may be missing pieces, it's hard to tell with this mess. Hopefully it works better than it was packed. Lastly an update on quality, it does seem great, however there is a mounting issue with the X-55 that does not allow room for the cord (see last picture). This could be fixed by simply sending an extra ADJUSTABLE bracket, however as it sits I would hesitate to call it anywhere near X-55 compatible. There is simply no room for the wire. None. Unless you like your USB cable bent at 90 degrees at the base, (OUCH!) yopu have to have it cockeyed or start drilling holes. Also I see NO way of mounting the MFD bracket to the 2nd edition. It's funny becuase the instructions show it attaching to the unit by magic despite not fitting anything and not having any screws specified. Maybe I am missing pieces? I think there was alot of thought and quality here, I just cannot give it any kind of credit having been sent a used unit that took hours to organize and figure out and days to arrive. Also the fact that it is NOT fully compatible with the X-55 makes me scratch my head. It seems like every detail was well thought out for the X-55, except the wire! I think they may be a great company and this a value, but until I get these 2 units sorted, this review stays as is.

I have the CM2 throttle and Warbird base for my stick. Both mounted perfectly with included hardware. The included plate fits the warbird mounting holes. The newer version of the CM2 throttle mounted using 2 screws into the plate and balanced with a cross piece. Both are rock solid with no movement at all. I included pictures showing that even on my desk with a metal frame, these can be mounted while retaining stability. During flight in DCS and a couple space games there is ZERO movement. When I grab the base and wiggle it, the only movement is because my desk is moving. If I grab it like it owes me money it will move, but thats not a realistic use. When I mounted flush to the desk, as is more common, the stability was as solid as anything. I am amazed at how firm and stable these are. Price shopping hotas mounts and the value of these is impressive. To the reviews of complicated assembly. There are diagrams and a very rough guide for how these go together. I am not handy, at all. First one assembled in under an hour. 2nd in 20 minutes. Just take a breath and apply common sense, look at the pictures and you'll be fine.

In my opinion DO NOT BUY for VKB Gladiator. As others have mentioned this is a relatively difficult and time consuming thing to build, but that isn't the reason I've rated it so poorly. The problem with the mounting brackets is two fold: 1. You cannot mount your flight controls, position them, and then tighten to the frame as the screws you need to access will be underneath your flight controls. You have to fiddle with it quite a lot. 2. Those bracket to frame screws also do not sit flush as the brackets are not thick and countersunk as they should be. This means your flight controls either rest on top of the screws only in the center, or that you must purchase additional washers to standoff the device far enough for properly flat mounting. I didn't find the assembly particular confusing, however, the difficulty stems from the fact that the screws are not paired with proper T-slot nuts, and the screws are quite short, which means several points of assembly are rather picky about how far you've secured them, which can result in them falling off while you're trying to position to fit into the slots. Everything is relatively stable, which is why I still give it two stars instead of 1, however for mounting a VKB Gladiator it is not worth the time and money. Considering how expensive other mount options are, I will simply be purchasing extrusion and building better ones myself while saving money. Honestly, I probably could have built my own in less time than I've spent fiddling with these things.

This is my first joystick mount as I just got my first flight sim stick for Christmas so I don’t have anything to compare it to, but generally works pretty well. Seems very adjustable but a bit fiddly to get the adjustment right, a worthy tradeoff for the range of adjustability. Unfortunately the bolts that it comes with are kind of soft and strip easily. Stripped one on initial assembly and then when I brought it to a friend’s house and had to re-adjust to his table thickness, ended up stripping another two. If you’re only going to use it for one spot and never move it it’s pretty great, but if you’re wanting to re-adjust it with any regularity, having a bit higher grade torx fasteners would be a real upgrade.

UPDATE 2022: Still the best I've ever owned. I drilled new holes in the base plate for a new stick since I have this model from a few years ago before the upgraded. But still WAY better than Monster or anyone else. The price is unbeatable. Go for it. For the price and what you get it's great!! I have the new model which I haven't seen anyone else post photos yet so here's a couple. Was kinda weird to assemble because the instructions were a little vague but you'll figure it out. I had the Amazon photos of the product to look at to help me up on the screen while assembling. I have one complaint which is why it's not 5 star perfect. I wish it were easier to swap between the throttle and the stick brackets. I play DCS and space Sims with dual stick so I take away the throttle and replace it with another stick. It take a few minutes to disassemble and put the new one on. It's nothing deal breaking but I'm debating buying 3rd mount that way I can just permanently have all 3 controls on their independent mounts. The mount is very sturdy, I was a little bit skeptical because it seems so flimsy when you pull it out of the box but once it's all put together I assure you they've done a great job and making sure the build quality is good. You can tell that they've reinforced certain areas with the brackets. Would be nice to be able to go just a little bit higher up vertically but other than that and the minor control switching the backplates, think any recreational or even more hardcore sim pits will enjoy this. Also a side note I REALLY enjoy the way they changed the tightening latch on the bottom. It's now a big red lever that pushes against the tablr and no longer a twist handle. This allows for REALLY tight application.

Very Good Quality! Highly recommended for flight sims

Bought for a center mount joystick setup for Flight Simming and it works beautifully. It's rock solid when attached to my desk, I notice zero movement at all, and does not seem to be damaging my desk in any way. I use my desk for both work and play, and the J Pein is perfect since I can attach or remove my joystick in less than 15 seconds. Then I just stick it on the floor below the desk and it's out of sight. Assembly was straightforward enough, if you're completely hopeless with tools you might struggle a bit, but anyone who has ever built a Lego set or something from Ikea should be able to handle this. There were a few bits in the box that weren't mentioned anywhere in the instructions, although they are obviously not critical to the function of the product as I simply left them in the box and haven't had any issues. But maybe a rewrite of the instructions would be a good idea going forward. It's also completely adjustable so that you can get your stick exactly where you need it to be. Also offers fantastic value vs. the competitors, and comes with all the extra screws you need to attach most sticks and throttles to the universal mounting plate, so no need to buy a different plate if I get a different joystick in the future.

It was a bit difficult to assemble, but I finally finished it. It's really firmly fixed.

Die Halterungen werden gut verpackt mit einer Unzahl an Schrauben und Muttern geliefert. Ein gedruckte Anleitung ist nicht dabei. Auf der Verpackung ist allerdings ein QR-Code aufgedruckt, der zu einem sehr guten YT-Video führt, das den Zusammebau sehr ausführlich zeigt. Das dürfte dann auch wirklich JEDER hinbekommen. Ohne dieses Video halte ich den Zusammenbau für fas unmöglich ;-) Wenn man dem Video folgt, passt alles perfekt und saugend schmatzend :-) Ich hatte die Halterungen für den WinCTL Ursa Sidestick und die WinCTL-Throttle-Einheit (ehemals WinWing) gekauft und war zunächst skeptisch, ob das wirklich passt. Die HAletrungen von WinCTL sind deutlich teurer. Es liegen aber so viele Schrauben und Schienen mit dabei, dass es absolut kein Problem war die beiden Komponenten zu befestigen. PRIMA!!! Durch das Schienenystem der Halterungen müsste man eigentlich jede erdenkliche Hardwarkombination befestigt bekommen. Die Halterungen machen einen wirklich guten Eindruck und die Einzelteile sind sehr gut verarbeitet. Sie halten bombenfest an meinem Schreibtisch. Die schwarz-rote Kombination wirkt dabei sehr edel und anmutig. Ich habe den Kauf nicht bereut und spreche eine klare Kaufempfehlung aus.

Used it for a couple of weeks now and very comfortable to write this review. The manufacturer had certainly take the feedback of customers constructively and improved this product significantly. Especially on the vertical support which is now a robust single aluminum structure. While the assembly may look complex, it is a well engineered product that is flexible and highly adjustable to satisfy every whim of a serious Sim fan. Not to mention it also looks gorgeous. Understand the price is more attractive than the alternative (for serious Sim Fan), only non-breaking gripe is still the price. It took me a while to take the plunge, and I am very satisfied with the purchase. But as mentioned, it is for the serious Sim fan. Good job to the manufacturer and continue to listen to the feedback of your customers and improve your product,
