Excellent toothbrush
I gave it a few months before trying to write a review and I can honestly say I love this toothbrush. My old oral b electric toothbrush lasted me over 7 years before finally starting to lose it's juice so I figured I would replace it with another Oral B. I read a million reviews on all of the models and this was the one I eventually settled on. The professional clean setting is amazing, it really makes your mouth feel clean. During a recent exam my dentist was impressed at how little interstitial plaque was present despite not having had a cleaning in quite some time, and I honestly attribute that to this little tooth brush. My only complaint is that it is quite loud, but not unbearably. The battery is great too. With 2 people brushing regularly I usually only have to charge it once a week and even then it only takes two to three hours to get to full charge.

The best electric toothbrush you can buy!
The Oral B is the best electric toothbrush you can buy. I saw my dentist 2 weeks ago and the dental hygienist did not have to do a lot of scraping on my teeth to remove tarter because the toothbrush was quite efficient. I also like the toothbrush holder that keep the brushes clean.

Super brush!
This is the second Oral-B powered toothbrush that I've owned, and I'm even happier with it than I was with my first one (which I also really liked). The most important aspect of a toothbrush is how it performs. For my wife and I, we love how fresh and clean our teeth feel after brushing with it. It has several different brushing mode to suit your tastes:1) a higher power, more vigorous brushing mode2) a slightly lower power mode, if you are slightly overwhelmed with the full power mode (this is especially helpful for younger kids using the brush)3) a pulse mode that alternates between a higher and slower spin/vibrate action that is even more gentleOne of the handiest features of a smart electric brush like this is that it has a built in timer to help you to know if you've brushed enough to really clean your teeth. You can set it for 2:00 or 3:00. This is, of course, just a guideline, for how much one should brush to clean their teeth thoroughly, but it is helpful. The whole body of the brush pulses after each successive 25% has been completed. I use this to clean my quadrants (lower left, lower right, upper left, upper right) so I can be a bit more confident that I've given equal time to all my teeth. On another note, the device is well built. I wouldn't hazard to drop it intentionally, but if reasonably cared for it should provide years of service. My last Oral-B brush lasted 5 years or so before the rechargeable battery started to give out (which is expected). I'm sure this one will last at least as long.Speaking of batteries, this brush has a very sleek wireless charging system. No exposed contacts or ports to cover - just set it on its base and it does the job.Include in the package was a nice, low profile base with an attached caddy for up to four brush heads (if you are sharing the brush with family or significant others). It also comes with a plastic shell caddy for short trips. I found I could pretty comfortably use the brush for 3-5 days while traveling without requiring the charing base, though your milage may vary. Just a note about the caddy. My last brush came with the same plastic caddy. The hinge of the caddy eventually broke but the two halves of the shell still snapped together effectively enough that it was still useable/useful. An annoyance to be sure, but not a major problem. This unit also can communicate with an app on your smartphone that can provide you with brushing insights and remind you when to change your brush. As of this writing, the software is only useful if only one person is using the brush as it doesn't currently have the notion of distinct users - everyone's brushings are evaluated together. As a techie, I would normally love something like this, but so far I have not been terribly motivated to open the app while I'm near my toothbrush so the brushing history can sync, etc.So, while the smartphone/app integration is not currently a major selling point, the really important functionality and quality of the product is there.

Good toothbrush... not sure the bluetooth connectivity is necessary
This toothbrush replaced an Oral B Triumph electric toothbrush that was several years old and starting to show a lot of wear. I needed a new toothbrush anyway and the bluetooth feature intrigued me. After having used it for a few days I will say that I'm very happy with the toothbrush itself. The brush head I was using was only 4 or 6 weeks old, so I just put my existing brush head on the new toothbrush and I was quite surprised that my teeth felt noticeably cleaner than when I brushed with my old triumph brush, even though I was using the exact same brush head. The triumph was in the same price range as this brush, so I really wasn't expecting any difference in brushing performance. This brush is also noticeably lighter than my old triumph.I'm not sure how helpful the bluetooth feature really is, though. It's really a bit of a pain to remember to bring my phone to the bathroom, unlock the phone, start the app, then start brushing every time. While you're brushing the app pretty much gives you the same info that you get with the smart guide that Oral B has included with their toothbrushes for a while now (although it does also include news headlines, weather information, and upcoming calendar appointments) but frankly, when I first got my triumph brush I think I used the smart guide for all of about a week and then managed to lose it in the back of a bathroom cabinet, so I'm not sure I really see myself continuing to open up the app every time I brush my teeth. The app will also record how often and how long you brush for and the brush will retain 20 sessions if you don't start the app each time you brush, so if you want a log of your brushing habits, then it would be good for this and you'd only have to sync with your phone about every two weeks or so, but frankly, I'm not entirely certain why I'd want a log of how often I brush my teeth. The other thing worth noting is that it doesn't work well to share the brush with someone else. The brush will sync with more than one phone, so if everyone remembers to open the app every time they brush, then it will work and the data will all be logged correctly for each user. However, if you don't open the app the brush will store the session in it's own memory and will then sync that session with the first phone that it connects to. So if my wife wakes up first and brushes her teeth without connecting her phone, then I connect my phone and start brushing the app will show that I brushed my teeth twice that morning... once from the saved session that my wife did and once from when I actually brushed them.So in the end I'm going to keep the brush as I'm really quite happy with it's performance as an electric toothbrush, and the bluetooth feature doesn't really add any additional cost (I believe it's actually the same price as the non-bluetooth Pro 5000), but I'm not sure I'll actually be using the bluetooth feature several weeks from now.
