Well made thick linen, the suede bows are on little safety pins so can be detached if preferred, as ours is a large window it doesn't rouche but that's ok and it will slide along a curtain pole easily and stay there if you need more light at the sides of window.

Can't really complain. It works great in my window, is not too tall for windowsill plants, but would recommend finding your plants about a 1 inch platform if they're standard 9-12cm pots.
