Massage pad came well packed and undamaged. It is sturdily built and sets up quickly. I put it on my power recliner as it helps to use the tilt function of my chair to fine tune the massage experience. I don't leave the pad on the chair for general use, the massage knobs are hard. I don't fully recline in the chair when I use the massager, for the same reason, that would transfer too much weight onto the massaging balls.In general, the neck and lower back massage functions are fine just as they are. I use a pillow under two conditions. One, I insert a pillow lengthwise along the back to pad the upper back function which digs in a bit too rough on my thoracic spine, even with the additional black padding flap. Secondly, I SIT on the same pillow when I want the neck massager to more effectively catch my shoulders. With no pillow (and most of my massage session), I have the machine knead my neck and lower back. I am 5'8" tall with a relatively short torso for my height. The height adjustment on the neck massager works well to catch all of my neck. Everyone will have different torso and neck lengths, so the pillow adaptations I use are specific for my body but I believe everyone can benefit from this massager. As others have reported, it is best not to overdo it, the shiatsu massage balls are hard and you can bruise your back, so when the timer stops, I stop.I have not used the heat function yet, I have only had the unit for 4 days but I am less interested in that capability. I already knew I did not want the seat vibration but it does work.I don't have problems with my back other than I am 68 years old and my lower back gets sore after working outside. I have no pathology, degenerative discs, etc. I just wanted to knead out sore and fatigued back muscles and, while interested in an actual massage chair (which range from 2 to 8 thousand dollars), I thought an inexpensive, no frills pad would be a good introduction to home massage. I already knew I didn't need "zero gravity effect", "chromotherapy", built in bluetooth speakers, massaging air bladders and all the other bells and whistles. Yes, a 3-D massage chair has the ability to adjust the massage balls further or closer to your spine, but I am able to simulate the effect with a pillow with this machine.So, to summarize, I am happy with this purchase and the pad is giving me what I wanted: a basic neck, shoulder and back mechanical massage. I have given it 4 stars only because I have only used it less than a week. If the machine holds up, I will update the review and give it a full 5 star rating.Update: One week later. Finally tried the heat settings and, in my opinion, have no difficulty feeling the warmth at all for both the next and back. This is in contrast to other reviews which state that the heat is weak. Also, I tried out a $7000 3-D massage chair at Costco today. I honest enjoy the massage from the Snailax pad just as much (probably because I really just need my neck, shoulders and back worked on) the legs, arms, butt, and feet are secondary/tertiary for me).

Amazing!!! I just received this an hour ago and am using in while sitting at my office desk and it is amazing. My back is already feeling better. I wish I bought this a year ago! Highly recommend. Zero setup, took it out of the box and plugged it in and have been getting a back massage for the last hour.

We own a cabin and a Homestead so we work hard and play hard every day. It’s nice to have a comfy massager to add to the recliner after a hard days work. I cannot say enough about the pain relief feature that the shiatsu massage and heat gives me. I suffered a traumatic brain injury and broken back. I have arthritis for my neck to my tailbone. This chair literally massages from my neck to my tailbone and gives me great relief. The maneuverability and adjust The best that I’ve seen in any at home, massager the speed It performs exactly how I expected it. It’s very versatile in that if you like a lot of pressure you definitely get that deep tissue massage. If you like less pressure there is a pad that you Velcro to it and it takes away some of.. The heat is a very nice feature that I use all the time. I highly recommend this product. Guest cabin and my husband use it and they all love it too.
