This is the second of these that I have purchased. I use it in the summer for golf. Its wide brim protects the face/neck area and the open mesh allows for a much cooler crown. We live in the desert southwest where the summer temps routinely top 105 and this hat is about as good as it gets. I've tried others but none work as well as this one.

I bought this hat for my husband and it was so nice so bought myself one. The hat is well constructed and I really like it, but such a shame that mine was shipped in just a bag and was just shoved in my mailbox.. for a nice hat like this one I would have thought it would have been packed nicer like my husband’s was. Hopefully all the crushed parts work themselves out.

My previous hat disappeared during my estate sale. I was so disappointed, but was excited to see it was still available. It fits well and offers a lot of shade for my face. And it’s amazingly cool, too.

Hat design is fine. I am a 7 3/16 so the medium is too small and the large is too large. Had to put some material in band

I recommend the hat....good, wide brim to keep sun off....

It protects from the sun. Stylish.

UPDATE May 2023: Going into 2d summer hot weather in TX. Hat worked very well last summer. Cooler head was the order of the day. [FIRST REVIEW] Looking good and protecting one topside is important for seasoned citizen. In the Texas summer one needs a suitable cover that is cool to wear in style and let's a breeze pass through. I shopped locally but only found ones for gardening/lifeguard; big straw hats. I wanted one with ventilation and lots of shade and found this brand. Be sure to double check your hat size with the seller's tips. So ordered a medium size but after wearing it indoors I found it too small. So I returned it and ordered the large size. Large was too big for me but as other reviewers noted put something inside sweat band. See photo. It fits much better now for one with an in-between hat size. While walking one does sweat a bit even with wind blowing through it. If just sitting or say fishing I don't think you would sweat as much under the hat. I have only used the rawhide chin cord once when the wind was blowing a lot. The photos were taken in bright sunshine so you can see the amount of shade one gets underneath. Happy I bought it. UPDATE Oct 2022. Just about finished (I hope) with hot Texas weather and can wear my ball cap again. During the summer I wore the hat many times and really appreciate the shade. And it seemed a bit cooler up top with the vented construction. When you sweat a lot the hat seems to get fit a bit looser even with the filler I put under the sweat band. Size does matter and the shade works best for me. BTW: if you are in a loud noise environment and want wear this hat shop for behind the head ear muffs and/or foam ear plugs to protect your hearing. I have written reviews on muffs and foam ear plugs that I have worn with the hat.

I am always worried about buying hats online. Are they going to fit, are they going to be shipped in good condition, etc. However, my older safari hat was starting to disintegrate, so I decided it was time to buy a new one, and with shopping limited due to COVID, I decided to just buy one online anyways.To start, shipping was okay. Not great, but not bad either. It was in a box that was sufficiently wide enough. The top was pushed into the box, but I think that it is probably shipped that way to Amazon anyways. This does however make the top of the hat have some creases in the mesh. They have not come out yet after about a month, with many wears already, so it does not look as good as it could (I hope they come out at some point, and might try putting newspaper in it to prop it up for a while).The hat itself has a nice large brim. You can easily fold the sides up using the chin string (which I do) and still get protection over your ears (which I like). It covers the neck area well which is important if you are out in the sun a lot and my neck has not gotten sunburnt yet while wearing this hat (awesome).The top of the hat it slightly tall, and I think it would be better looking if it was lower, but I am not going to deduct a star for that as a personal preference that is not good or bad in my opinion, just important to know. The mesh on the top is breathable, but does not let a lot of sun in, which is perfect for this type of hat. My older one of a different popular brand I felt let in a little too much sun. This one seems perfect.This hat is great. It is breathable so that you don't get too sweaty, and looks nice. It is difficult to find hats like these that look nice and are functional, and this one is about as good as it gets. I am very glad that I bought it.

I love this hat, I have a really big head and finding hats that fit can prove quite challenging, this one fits like a dream. It has a lovely wide brim that protects me from the sun when I'm out with my dogs. I haven't been caught in a downpour yet but I think this hat will hold its own when I do

Great hat arrived on time

After going through a few amazon flops, notably misshapen or broken straw hars on delivery, I have finally found my hat. It looks great and keeps its shape. The top mesh keeps you cool, but doesn't look bad. Kept the sun off my head all summer.
