Cement Mixer - Building Set by Brictek (14003)

I have both this cement mixer, and the Lego cement mixer. Overall, the quality is about the same. The Lego version has a more intricate mechanism to turn the mixer piece, and more intricate details (doors, side view mirrors, cement funnel). That's good and bad, depending on your audience target. For my 4 year old (yeah my son is a super genius and I tend to ignore all the age suggestions from toy manufacturers!), more pieces = more prone to be dismembered. However, the Lego version's mixer piece has interior grooves and it comes with small grey "single circles" that are the cement. When turned, the interior grooves force the lego cement out.Overall the Brictek is a good value compared to the Lego Cement mixer at about half the price (when I bought it).

I was looking for the most recent Lego yellow and grey cement mixer to go with the white and blue one I already have, when I came across an image of the Brictek set. I found it on Amazon and was surprised to see how much look like Lego. It blends well into any Lego scene. The model puts together and stays together well. I'm not going to say Lego watch out, but I think they have a great opportunity to create some great models.The only con I have is the wheels don't seem to roll easily!
