won't work on windows 10.
This game is really old and it only runs on windows vista, xp or 2000. So if you have a better os, don't bother getting it. It doesn't workUpdate: I tested and it worked on windows 7! I tried it on windows 10 the first time and it wouldn't start. If you get it to work on your computer then it's an awesome game! Used to play it on my psp as a kid all the time! This brought a wave of nostalgia for me.

Will not Run under Windows 7 64 bit updated
Update 07172011Game installs and works perfectly on Windows 7. My problem was with the catalyst control center not being compatible with many games. If you are runnning windows 7 don't buy this game. Here is the response I got from Lucas Arts.Hello,Please note that the program is not tested or supported in Windows 7. You *may* be able to run the program using compatibility mode in Windows 7, but we cannot guarantee the program will function properly in this new operating system.Program compatibility is a mode in Windows that lets you run programs written for earlier versions of Windows. Most programs written for Windows XP also work in this version of Windows, but some older programs might run poorly or not run at all. If an older program doesn't run correctly, start the Program Compatibility Wizard to simulate earlier versions of Windows.

Thrillville on the Rails games and Windows 8.1
I purchased this older game just to experiment and see if it would run well on the newest OS.It installed and is running perfect on Windows 8.1 (HP desktop with AMD A4 processor and AMD Radeon HD 6410D Graphics.1. Must install all 3 Cd discs to the computers hard drive, and then put the CD disc #1 back in the tray when install is complete in order to get the launcher to work. This requirement to use the #1 disc in the tray when playing the game ID's the installation as authentic.2. Keyboard and Mouse game instructions work flawlessly.3. Works just as well as it did/does on Sony's console Play Station edition (PS2).This is my experience on the above named computer.

A Big Disappointment!
When I got this game a few years ago, I bought it expecting a big vavoom, but I didn't get that. Though the game doesn't absolutely suck, it certainly is a big disappointment to those expecting better. The graphics are just okay, the gameplay gets pretty boring, and there's not very much substance to it. The ability to talk to people and make friends isn't that great, especially when the only way to make friends is to pick one of a few subjects available and find out if they absolutely hate what you're talking about or are interested. Now the even crazier thing is the ability to have a girlfriend or boyfriend by flirting! Maybe other people would find this fun, but I don't. The objective to the game is basically to build a ride somewhere where people will spend money on it, whether it's a rollercoaster or a prefab ride and appeal to any celebrities within the park. You play the game in third person, playing as a customized character, running around, listening to a wacky old man spit out orders. Finally, you have the minigames. Most of these games are cheesy and a waste of time. Don't waste your money! If you haven't already, buy a game like Rollercoaster Tycoon 3. Thrillville O.T.R. aims to a younger audience, maybe even an older audience(doubtful) but it sure didn't aim to me

I Hate This Game
I hate this game for many reasons. You can't use the mouse to navigate through the program. You have to use 3 cd's to install the program and takes a lot of space on you computer. I would say this game is more for a younger person under 16. In order to play the game you have to leave a cd in. You can't bye-pass the introduction which is annoying after awhile. I wish I had listened to most of the reviews before I purchased it. I wish I could get my money back but I doubt I will be able to. So I'm stuck with it. I was trying to find another game similar to Roller Coaster Tycoon, but Thrillville Off the Rails, is no Roller Coaster Tycoon in any way shape or form.

The Windows version is a PC DVD game.
This is a PC DVD game. We have a Dell Latitude that has played all the PC games (CD ROM) we've bought except this one. When loaded, the drive was unable to read it and either stoped without recognizing the disk, or ejected it. We discovered that our DVD player was not working and needed to be replaced. After replacing the DVD/CD drive the game played, albeit slowly (could be our computer speed). My 10 yr old son seems happy with it and has played all the levels.
