This product has no reviews to date, and it deserves a 5 star review to differentiate it from the $6.00 to $75.00 competition.50+ years in fields requiring measuring tools, I know quality: Good metal, etched markings, thorough machining. Made in the USA as claimed? I'd believe it. It's pricey but worth it. The only other choice for METRIC ONLY is Starrett which, as always, is top price while the Starrett quality of yesteryear is gone.Virtually every other measuring tool has a Metric scale AND INCHES, meaning you constantly find the Inch scale on the edge you want to use and have to flip the tool to get a Metric edge---a thousand million times, forever.Perfect tool for anyone who realizes the only non-Metric things in the world are the measuring tools Americans use to measure the Metric world.

Poor quality. Not square / uneven blade.
Item not square. Checked with Incra GSQR5. The blade is uneven along the way either. Around 2 mm off within 15 cm. Not worth the money! Will give Starrett a go!

Quality square for a reasonable price
This PEC square seems ok for my needs (mainly woodworking). It certainly doesn't look like a cheap chinese square. The rule slides smoothly with no excessive play and is well engraved with a nice satin finish. It seems to be square (I checked it with my best square) but I don't have enough experience to attest the level of accuracy. I don't own any starrett tool so I can't compare with it. The cardboard box in which the square comes is of very poor quality but fortunately the seller packed the square well.

Very high quality square
This product is perfect : very well machined (no burrs,..), satin finish, very easy to read. Dead of squareness.Note the body is smaller than other models from other brands and it is complementary.I recommend

Excellent quality regardless of price
This is an excellent square at any price point. I've used a 12" combination square for over 20 years, and regret not getting one of these much sooner. I use this at least 90% of the time when doing layout and checking square now. This size fits perfectly in the apron pocket and it it's much more convenient for doing layout on anything falling within its length range. Also, I recently ordered a Starrett 4" version of this square to have an imperial one (working in both systems these days due to Festool). The Starrett had quality issues (see my review of that tool), so I sent it back and ordered another one of these. In comparison with the Starrett (see photos), this tool is uperior in every way; it is more robust and feels more solid in the hand, the finish on the blade is much easier for taking fine measurements, and the size of the head is bigger in every dimension. Do yourself a favor and order this and the imperial blade, and you'll have two superior tools for less than the price of one of the Starretts.
