ZELCAN Large HSS Spiral Groove Step Drill Bit
Worked very well. I have a steel door. Very old, meaning thick plating not the cheaply newer ones you find today.I already had a dead bolt size of 1" 5/8. Old lock. So a hole saw would not work. This cut a 2" 5/8 hole like butter. Very sharp and no heat marks.

It's very sharp!
I was surprised at just how sharp this bit is. It cut right through thick plastic and left a very clean hole. It's large, I initially thought too large, but I ended up needing the extra diameter for a project. I'm glad I bought it.

step drill
great item , although it is heavy, it can go up to 2 1/2"

Sort of worked
Starts out okay but gets stuck at higher steps and I used it in a drill press. It is a sturdy build but cutting edges are marginally effective in 1/8" steel.

Questionable machining.
Final machining on larger diameter edges isn't at all that crisp or sharp. See pics. I will be boring some 1/8" steel plate to approx 2" diameter and will update on how it does. Hoping this can make at least one decent hole in mild steel - for the price I expected better. A smaller size step bit of similar make I was using previously rounded itself out after the 1” mark, we'll see if this one will be able to complete the task.

Need up to a 2 3/8 inch diameter hole this is the Step bit to use
I hand drill holes in 2/3/4 inch diameter round PVD pipes to make Hydroponic systems. This bit allows me to cut a 2 Inch Diameter hole easily on a round surface. It avoids the "bit walk" I get with Flat Hex Shank bits and costs much less than a Forstner bit. For me, this works great. It covers various sizes up to 2 3/8 too. Its substantially larger in diameter and weight than traditional Step Drill Bits and can be used on a Drill Press and Lathe tooI wouldn't hesitate to buy another as needed.

Cheap
Purchased this to drill some holes in 3/16 mild steel plate. Used my mill for this with plenty of lubricant and the appropriate speed and pressure, only made it thru one plate before it burned up. Was only drilling to 1 1/8” too. Don't waste your money.

Malo
No perforó más de 3/4

Smooth Drilling
Great quality, smooth cutting through sheet metal. Shaving small pieces off as it drills through the metal. A little sloppy over 2”, but easy use

No dura nada dos perforaciones y perdió el filo muy mala validad
Lo usé para ampliar un barreno y en el segundo ya no corto, en placa de 3/16 muy mala calidad

Worked as expected
I needed to enlarge an existing 1-1/4" hole into a 1-5/8" hole in a rain barrel. I tried using a hole saw, but couldn't hold the drill steady enough. This step drill bit made enlarging the hole easy. I used it with my portable drill and didn't expect the bit to grab and pull into the hole so quickly. I took out more material than I wanted making the hole 1-3/4". The bit works great on plastic.
