Installs easy and seems well made.
Installation was a breeze with included instructions - took about 15 mins to install and a bit longer to figure out how to route the trailer harness. I choose to run mine to the left of the gas filler bumpout which gave me the most length.Phillips screwdriver to remove 5 screws and (I think it was) a 10mm socket to remove 4 bolts for the metal spare tire support bracket. I used my fingers to remove the drain plug, but I guess you could use a flathead screwdriver as it was kind of tough. Also a knife of some sort to cut the drainplug.Once I removed the panel, I found the connector right there. Unpllugged the connector and plugged in the new harness - very easy. Found a drainplug in the lower fender (also found a weird bag [pic] with some sort of insullation in it - guess it's for noise absorption) which I popped out and trimmed then fished the trailer harness down through the hole. Replaced the plug and taped up around the wire to reduce chafing and movement. I will RTV this area once I have time to get under there.I haven't actually plugged it into my trailer yet, but if it is anything less than my 5 star rating, I will be sure to update this post.

Even an idiot like me
Pretty basic install, remove the spare tire and tire bracket on drivers side, remove plastic side cover and the outlets are mounted right there. Attach and run the wiring down through opening that leads to the ground outside the vehicle. Wrap the exposed wiring with electrical tape and attach to hitch body with wire ties and your done.

Very quick and easy install on my Jeep XJ
Quick plug in that looks way cleaner than the old splice inline style that was in it. Honestly took longer to repair the wires from the old system than anything.

exact length, easy install. works!
Harness was installed in Jeep XJ. It's plug n play which is nice. It's nopt short but could be a few inches longer for sure. I plugged it in the left side as it's sup[posed to & ran it out the factory panel grommet & then behind the bumper rebar to the hitch receiver. It definitely makes it, but that's it. no additional length to work with. I'd say another 5" would be nice but it's fine. It; definitely wont be hanging low.

Easy install on my 1998 Jeep Cherokee XJ
Easy install on my 1998 Jeep Cherokee XJ, just needed a screwdriver and a pocket knife. I routed the wires and plug through the left quarterpanel. There is a plastic plug about 1.5" wide under the car. If you pop it out, cut a slit in it, and route the 4-pin plug through, you will end up with a very clean install. I hid the wires with black sheathing and zip-tied the lot to the trailer hitch for a clean installation."Hardest" part of this job was moving the spare tire out of the way and replacing it after I was finished. This is a great product.

Hopkins Saves the Day
This plug in wiring kit for trailers worked great for my 2000 Cherokee. Needed some metric sockets to get the spare tire and body panels loosened up to access the tail light wiring. Once that was handled, the acutal connection of the kit was easy! Just locate the correct plugs, add a little of the provided grease to prevent corosion, snap everything back into place, and your ready to haul a trailer. This is way easier than cutting wires and taping them together. This is a clean and simple install. Took about 20 minutes to get it hooked up and working. If you are getting a hitch, find the right Hopkins plug in harness for your rig and you will never regret it.

Works great. Easy install on my jeep
Bought this for my 2000 jeep cherokee. Fit was a perfect match and was super easy to install. Instructions are vague as far as wire routing but with a quick video search install is super easy. I would recommend this plug and play harness over trying to hard wire your trailer lights. Within about 20 min I had power to the connector and lights on the trailer. Product quality is good but the wire is a little short for how I routed it. User presence I'm sure.

Perfect fit. 10 min install
So easy. Took 10 minutes to install. I bought expecting it to not fit the plug in my 2000 jeep xj but it did. Well worth the money to save time and effort.

Good, but not plug & play
Good points: fits directly into original Jeep wiring harnessBad points: in order for a 7 pin tow bar hook up to work properly you need to identify the brake light wire (Red), cut it and connect directly to OEM wire (also red)Okay if you know what you're doing but right pickle if you don't as the trailer lights flash all over the place

Very nice product
Very simple installation. I did have to Google where it plugs in on mine,as there are no instructions. Only took me 15 minutes on a 1997 Cherokee

Perfect fit for my 1998 Jeep Cherokee XJ.
Used this to add a trailer harness for my 1998 Jeep Cherokee XJ. Just unplug the taillight harness behind the drivers side trunk wall above the fuel tank filler neck and plug it inline. Worked perfectly. 15 minute install.
