Phyllostachys Bissetti/David Bisset Bamboo-Very Cold Hardy Down to -15 Degrees g

It's only been in the ground a few days, but it arrived extremely well packaged and in wonderful condition. It's going strong in spite of being buffeted by winds all day for three days... That's one thing I didn't think of when choosing its location. Fingers crossed.

The plant was well packed, in very good shape and the root ball very moist when it arrived. I unpacked it and was pleased to find care instructions had been included. I followed the sellers directions, planted the bamboo and made sure to keep it well watered. The plant has been in the ground for several weeks now and there are lots of new leaves emerging so I guess it's happy. I have a heavy deer population that seems to eat anything it can find so I'd recommend surrounding the plant with a protective fence initially.

The plant looked great when unboxed and for a few weeks. I realized too late that it was infested w/ black aphids. This is not a pest I have encountered in this area (inside or out). It was held indoors in quarantine when the bloom took off. I was planning to buy several more of these in the spring, but now I have to reconsider after this experience.

We ordered one plant. It arrived very nicely packaged and was HUGE. Expect a little browning at first, but know that it won't mess your plant up. We kept it inside in a bucket for a month and watered it regularly while waiting on the ground to thaw. We transplanted outdoor in April. It didn't do anything for a few months. Now, it's late June and we're starting to see new shoots sprouting up around the original plant. We can't wait to see it in a few years when we've got the forest we've been dreaming of. We credit the success of our plant to the helpful directions included in the packaging. We'll use this seller again, for sure.

UPDATED review: see photo in April and then in August. Quite the growth. .... Very well packaged, it arrived in 3-4 days. I planted it in a deep container and it’s doing well so far. I think it will eventually take up the whole container. Plant was in good condition and it came with some instructions too.

The bamboo showed up in good condition. Keeping my fingers crossed that it grows well in my climate.
