I bought my electric auger at an estate sale about a year ago. It was $99 & the internet showed costs of between $225 & 350 at the time. We have a lot of clay soil & digging isn't easy. This worked really well. I bought the bigger bit for planting & could be used for a 4x4 post if need be. I was amazed at how well it works. Much easier then gas powered. For planting shrubs & small trees it's great. I have used it once with a portable generator & it worked with it. Delivery was quick & on time.

A piece of advice when buying an auger and bit I have learned. Buy the smallest bit possible to do the job. It makes the machine so much easier to operate. I bought an auger with a 12" bit upgrade and ended up buying the 6" bit anyway. Thought I would get a better value, however machine with larger bit became difficult to handle. The 6" bit is well constructed and came quickly. It does the job perfectly and doesn't get hung up like the larger bit did. Comes with own codder pin.

Works great in clean dirt. Not meant to be used in rooted or rocky areas.

I am in Georgia. We have clay with rocks. So got this. It made the job so much easier. Of course still had to pull out the bigger boulders.

My husband builds fences and this bit has made his life so much easier he says it cuts like a chain saw cutting threw rocks , roots everything that gets in his way of building the fence. He loves it .

These auger bits are fantastic. Light weight but really dig well. Easy to attach to the power head. Great for planting trees, plants and digging post holes. I was happy with the price and was able to purchase 2 different sizes for the price of one 8 inch bit from a different company.
