I bought this to go with a little Pearl Traveler kit I use for practicing with a Jazz Quartet. I needed something that would give a sound a little softer than the standard beater. Even though this one does not look the one in the product description, it was soft enough to do exactly what I needed. Sounds great.So the photo shows a beater with the faux sheep's wool. The one that came had soft, white natural material.For about $9 this was a good buy. Feels solid and quality to last.

For the specific room I purchased this beater for (a lively acoustic church sanctuary) it works well with a Shure Beta 91 in the bass drum. This is a light weight beater with a fleece-like surface. It’s not as firm as a hard felt beater so the result is a quieter but lower pitched attack on the head.Delivery was on time with no issues.

Needed something less punchy. This was perfectly gentle and warm for the tone I was looking for…try it out!

Horrible quality. Broke within 5 minutes of using. Do not buy!

Overall, this is a good product, considering the price. The one con that I've noticed immediately is the faux-wool seems a bit on the thin side. It has a relatively good weight albeit with shorter stem, which I deem suited for smaller drums, such as 18-20" bass drums but overall, worth the price.

Helps control your volume in small venues. Creates awesome deep tone.

These beater is good and affordable

During a recent top-40 gig, the nut which holds the beater onto the rod came off. This has only happened one to me other time in over 30 years of playing drums professionally. I had to continue playing the kick drum with one hand using a stick, as there was no way to stop the song. The manufacturer of this pedal needs to use lock-tight or some other permanent sealer in their assembly line to keep this from happening. Until they do, I would not recommend this pedal to anyone.
