EPEVER Remote Temperature Sensor and Communication Cable CC-USB-RS485-150U USB to PC RS485 Tracer Series Solar Charge Controller Accessories(150U+RTS)

I have only used the remote temperature sensor so far, but having the RS232 to usb interface is useful.First surprise on trying to plug in the unit on my EPever Tracer 60A was that there already exists a small diode plugged into the socket. It was handy I inspected the area with a mirror first, as this eliminated any cursing after I had attempted to force the plug in over an existing one!The sensor is simple to mount. Some people recommend attaching to an actual terminal of the battery, but in my opinion the sensor should be sensing the entire environment the batteries are in, not the temperature of one plate of a single battery in the bank. So I secured the sensor to the top of one battery in a bank of 3. I was able to see soon after that the reported temperature was indeed that of the (boat engine space) area the batteries are in.I received two messages offering assistance from the seller after buying this combination pack, so they seem accessible to anyone needing further help with their goods.

I brought this to compliment and configure my Photonic Universe tracer MPPT controller. I needed the USB interface cable and wanted the thermal monitor for it as well. As the epsolar unit was identical in all the important ways, I decided to buy the kit for the tracer and they worked perfectly.Considering the price for them individually, this kit was a bargain so I was sold.The software for the tracer USB cable worked and presto... I set my battery and charge profiles in no time

Works well the temperature sensor is a must to protect valuable batteries. The USB interface make setting up the charge controller easy

Connected to my Tracer 1210N MPPT straight away. Nice long cable on the sensor. Not much else to say.

The cable worked fine for windows laptop - however using it for the android otg application from the epever websitethe epever spp 2.1.9 apk causes constant freezes of the android device - tried a number of different usb ports with the same result - sometimes works perfect reads all the solar charge controllers details etc but next time you read them the app freezes up, you have to force close the app - I emailed epever support and they said " we will develop update and develop some products according to the market and we will deliver your requirement to the company" I guess I wouldnt hold my breath. So to summarize - do not buy this for android because the app is just not stable. You can also change all the battery settings from this app such as float voltage etc which epever says you cannot do.

Not sure the communication cable is worth the bother of buying, the faff you go through downloading the software is painful, I only used it once and gave up. You have to configure com ports on your computer, so if you are not computer savvy forget it.Nice to have temperature sensor for the batteries though.

Tanto el sensor de temperatura, como el cable RS485 USB funcionando en un EPEVER Tracer3210AN.Para los que tengais problemas con la conexión del RS485 USB, id probando diferentes puertos COM, no os limiteis a los típicos 3 y 10 que aconsejan en sitios web.Yo no logré la conexión hasta el puerto COM18, en mi caso ( los fuí probando uno por uno, sin tocaar baudios ni nada más, sólo el puerto COM ) .
