Andersen Albany 2-Panel Gliding Door Hardware Set in Black

Update:Spoke to Andersen support. Aparently cover plate is not to be used on the outside side of the thumb latch, but rather on the other internal door. I will just use different screws to make it work on the outside.While handles did not fit my old Andersen doors exactly, they will do. The reach out lock also doesn't fit the jam opening. I would need to make it bigger. I am lost how to attach the cover plate on the exterior side of the door with the screws provided. Thumb latch on the interior side of the door comes with the same screws as the cover plate. I can use these screws either on the inside or on the outside but not on both sides at the same time because they can't possibly work. For handles, there is screw on the inside and the stud on the outside where the screw goes into. This makes sense and works well. What am I missing?

This product fit the door perfectly but the locking mechanism which came from china did not fit. It is a very sturdy handle this was made in the USA.

I purchased this hardware set to update my sliding glass door and to go better with the rest of our decor. I have had it on the door for 9 months and it has held up well. It looks nice and came just as advertised.
