EXACTLY what I've been searching for
I use a reclining chair in the birdroom because I spend a lot of time there with my "kids". My old chair didnt recline much and only had one lock position and the padding was shot.I wanted a high-back, leather chair that reclined to almost flat that could be locked in any position. Duramont delivered in spades. The leather is soft and supple. It reclines to 150° -- almost flat -- making that feature alone worth the price of admission. So instead of just dozing in an uncomfortable position, with the Duramont I can nap or even sleep. The pull-out leg rest is handy, although I will probably be using a hassack instead. The padded arms are articulated to enable the extreme recline, a clever and effective design feature.BUT ... the recline lever has an EXTREMELY strong spring, so much so that it hurt my fingers in use. It only has two positions: lock or unlock. However, there's a workaround. Unless you want to rock back and forth, just leave it in the locked position. To change recline angle, push the lever forward just enough to adjust the angle, then release back to the lock position. Works like a charm. In order to facilitate the extreme recline, designers had to widen the 5-spoke base. That made it TOO WIDE to roll through a standard doorway. I had to turn the chair on its side and slide it in.And it's heavy. I had to deviate from the instructions by placing the base onto the gas lift first and THEN attaching the backrest. Assembled with backrest-to-seat first made it too heavy for me to lift into place.Being the obsessive type that I am, I MEASURED the recline angle at 160°, 10° more than advertised. Color me a happy camper !BTY, instructions say "not recommended for two people", as the weight limit is 275#. So two people in the fully-reclined position would be a really bad idea if you get my drift. I crack me up.

Fairly comfortable, but could be more ergonomic
Overall this is a decent chair, usually found at a good price. I work from home and this is my current office chair. I'm 5'4" and a plus size female. While it's mostly comfortable, there are some things that take away 1-1.5 stars. The handle to activate the reclining feature is very awkwardly located, at least for me. It's under the seat on the back left corner and it moves front to back. It's a stretch for me to reach it so I don't adjust the recline option often. The pull-out/fold-out foot rest is a nice touch, but again, a little awkward to actually use. The footrest is stored under the seat, upside down. To use it you have to pull the cushion out from under the chair seat, making sure to pull it all the way out, flip the footrest cushion over (rotates 180 degrees from back/upside down to front/cushion side up), then you can push the footrest back against the chair if you'd like or leave it extended. When it's extended it feels wobbly and definitely less sturdy than the chair itself. Because of how difficult it is to use the footrest, I don't use it nearly as often as I'd expected. In fact, the footrest and recline feature were the main selling points for me on this chair, neither of which I use very often. One thing to note - I'd had the chair 2-3 days when the gas piston just stopped responding and I couldn't adjust the height on the chair any longer. A couple of weeks later, after getting annoyed and frustrated, I messed with it again and the piston came "unstuck" a little bit. Enough to allow me to adjust it anyway.I've had the chair a couple of months now. Overall the chair is supportive and comfortable - back support is great, seat is sturdy, moves smoothly across the chair mat/carpet. I'm just disappointed because the two features that sold me on the chair itself turned out to be less than useful.

This is the most comfortable of all the chairs I’ve ever sat in!
This is the 5th chair I’ve purchased this year, having had to return the other four chairs. I was looking for an office chair that tilted back a little when I sit at my desk. This is the only one that not only tilts back a little but goes almost as flat as a bed. It also sits lower than other chairs when you adjust the up/down lever. Also the wheels glide over my laminated floor with ease. The assembly was a little difficult when I tried to follow the directions which say to attach the wheels to the legs first then attach the seat to the back. Impossible! After several failed attempts to line up the holes to insert the screws, I decided to try placing the seat onto the cylinder & wheel base enabling me to easily attach the back to the seat! Also, the arms were then attached with ease. I highly recommend this chair for those looking for good lumbar support as well as comfort. BTW..I’m 5’9” & 160 pounds just to let you know because it was hard finding a chair that fits me. I believe I finally found it!!Now for the downside: I’ve been sitting in this chair for 3 weeks now & have found the arm rests keep loosening up so I’ve had to tighten them up twice now & my elbows have started to hurt because there’s not enough padding, also I’ve found the seat to be as hard as a rock making my butt numb. Also I wish the seat height went up a little higher from the floor! I plan to get a padded seat cushion & arm chair pads to see if this will help since I still like this chair because of the ability to tilt back when sitting & it feels so good on my aching back.
