Ashdown TOURBUS-15 15-Watt 1x8 Bass Combo Amplifier

I just received my "Tourbus 15" bass amp today. I've been looking for a small practice amp for a while to use at home, and take in my motorhome for when we're out and about. I looked at all of the usual online music merchants and thought the Ampeg BA-110 would fit the bill and ordered it from M.F. (they are great, btw). It was just too big and heavy. Its hard to gauge something without the whole "touchy feely" thing. Anyway, it wasnt gonna work for me. I checked Amazon and found this little Ashdown Tourbus 15. It has an MP3 input, and the amp sounds amazingly good hooked up to the iPod and my crappy Insignia MP3 player sounds good, too.I'm listening to it right now and Steely Dan is on. Sounds better than I ever thought it would. So I plugged my Waterstone TP-32 12 string bass in and start playing...it sounds amazingly good thru this amp, and I havent really twiddled the 3 knobs much yet. Then my Fender American standard Jazz 4 string was up. Again, really good, deep tone was achieved, all the time with the iPod running and no crackling of the speaker. Keep in mind that this amp is no powerhouse but you cant go wrong if you want a small bass amp that puts out good enough sound to use it as a stand alone MP3 player...ad your bass and its an excellent practice tool.A note regarding the amp/MP3 player...the amp part is independent of the MP3 player part meaning that the MP3 player uses its own controls for volume and tone settings. The amp volume and tone controls do not effect the MP3 players settings.I use an Ashdown Engineering ABM 500 EVOII head and the A.E. 4-10 deep bass cabinet when playing live, so I may be a little partial to the brand. A.E. amps are designed by the same guys in England who were building the awesome Trace-Elliot line of killer bass amps. Sadly, the Tourbuss 15 is made in China but for $119.00 its well built and worth it.

I just picked up an Ashdown Tourbus 15 this weekend. I was a little hesitant about the low wattage (15W), but figured it was for bedroom use and didn't really need loud volume. This thing delivers excellent bass tone! With basses that have stronger pickups, it can get a little distorted at higher volume (just lower the bass's volume to cure), and with mild pickups it sounds awesome. I angle it upward with a guitar stand for more direct sound.The MP3 input and headphone jack are perfect for practice and late night jamming.The secondary use for this amp will be to use when camping (we have outlets at the campsites). I'll be playing with acoustic guitars and a portable KB, and this amp should be perfect for that. I also get together with friends with acoustic guitars, and this little amp is just right.This amp is physically smaller than other low watt bass amps. For portability and great tone, I found this amp to be a fantastic choice.

This is great. Nice vintage look. Built study Stronger than the comparable ampeg, not as strong as the comparable fender. Not as loud and boomy as the comparable ampeg, for more wattage and smaller price. I live in a basement underneath tenants and i could not have s super boomy bass amp. I know i know, a punch in the gut- but this is a nice warm sound works well with my les paul too. Much better sound then the comparable fender.

Me gusta el precio, el diseño, el tamaño y el sonido.No me gusta el ruido transitorio elevado cuando lo conectas. Lo puedes eliminar teniendo enchufado los auriculares o un simple adaptador antes de encender el ampli.El sonido, al volumen de ensayo o práctica, es fantástico, me recuerda al típico "ronroneo" de las válvulas en los medios. Los graves, para el tamaño del altavoz, son muy decentes. El sonido en general es el característico de todos los amplis Ashdown, es decir, bello.Muy satisfecho con la adquisición

Bought for a Mate. It sounds great! He plugged it in at his house and I was surprised at what a solid rich sound it produced. It's pretty loud as well.Great for learning or for quality sound at home.

Ich war auf der Suche nach einen kleinen Verstärker den ich mir ins Wohnzimmer stellen kann. Dabei bin ich auf den Ashdown Tourbus 15 gestoßen. Preislich lag er noch unter dem was ich maximal ausgeben wollte, das Design gefiel und da ich auch einen seiner größeren Brüder besitze dachte ich mir, dass auch vom Sound her nicht viel schief gehen kann. Die Lieferung erfolgte prompt und die Versandkosten waren angemessen. Die Bedienung stellte sich als sehr einfach heraus. 1x Volume, 1x Bass, 1x Middle und 1x Treble. Ohne viel an den Poti schrauben zu müssen liefert das kleine Teil einen guten Sound fürs Wohnzimmer. Die 15 Watt sind meines Erachtens für diesen Zweck mehr als ausreichend. Ich war ehrlich gesagt überrascht wie laut das Teil tatsächlich geht. Super finde ich auch den mp3 Input sowie den zusätzlichen Kopfhörer Ausgang. Wer einen kleinen Übungs-Amp für wenig Geld sucht und den Ashdown Sound mag, ist für mein Gefühl mit einem Tourbus 15 gut beraten.
