Best baby toddler book! I read it to my boys 30 years ago and my granddaughters are loving it as well. What a classic classic book so pleased to have found it and thrilled to be reading it again to the new generation.

This book is all of my kids favorite book from childhood. I only had 1 copy, but as they get older, they wanted their own copy to take with them. This is such a cute book. The book is well made -- a great board book with a simple good message.

Retired children's librarian here. This is a wonderful, wonderful book on so many levels. I loved sharing it in story times and I love adding it to the board books I buy for new baby gifts. The reason it's getting 4 stars instead of 5 is its size. The book is available only as a very small sized board book. As the "reveal" of the story is Little Gorilla grown BIG on his birthday, the tiny format defeats the purchase. How I wish the publisher would reissue it in a large sized board book. Then it would get five stars and more, and everyone would still love it (that echoes the book's final line).

simple words but the story is very lovely. its good for babies who is scared to grow up that they may think their parents wont love them anymore. my baby enjoys the birthday cake part and she sings happy birthday and blow the candle in the book. if you buy the board book its small but good when you go travel

Baby loves it

My two year old grand daughter loved the story of this adorable baby gorilla and how the love of those around him never changes even as he does. The pictures of the animals in the jungle are simple and the book is sturdy so it can be left in the hands of younger children. We have read it many times and she seems to enjoy it as much every time .......looking forward to when he grows up.
