DuPont WFPTC102 High Protection Universal Pitcher Cartridge, 2-Pack, White

This is a universal replacement filter at a reasonable cost which fit and worked perfectly. In fact, it is easier to use than the OEM, because it doesn’t need to be “bumped “ to start working. Will buy again.

I soaked the cartridge in water for about 1/2 hour, then installed into a Walmart Great Value pitcher, seems to be just fine, however will it stand the test of time? Look for my update here: Update as promised, very good product, I know I put at least 30+ gallons through it and still working fine! I will buy many more! This company has my stamp of approval on this product., Hey, I am a minister so lying is NOT an option for me! Have a great day/night.

I was a little skeptical when I first placed the order. I was unsure if this filter would fit my DuPont pitcher, because the filter I had was different than the one pictured on Amazon. When I received the filters they were exactly the same as the one I had which was a relief. I flushed the filter as suggested in the instructions and I’m extremely happy with the results. The water tastes very clean. There is no weird aftertaste or dark color to the water. You do need to flush the filter to get rid of all those things before the first use or you will have issues. I have since placed two more orders for these filters and will continue to buy and recommend them.

The box the cartridges came in was not the same as the picture of the box on the Amazon website. I would have preferred to know the rating of the cartridges. I usually buy cartridges with a 4 rating, but the cartridges I received had no rating depicted on the box. P

I took a chance because these were the only ones I could find inexpensive on Amazon that said they worked for Dupont pitchers. However, as others commented, they are in fact the bigger kind, not the kind pictured on the product description. Also, they barely fit my pitcher and drain really slow leaving water behind (see photo) because the filter sticks up (not all water can get through).

This is only brand of filter I know that removes lead from water. Brita filters do not. Reviewer See (March 8, 2013) claims it also removes fluoride, but I can't confirm this.PROS: Perfect fit for my britta filter. It says to replace it after 2 months. I don't use a lot of water, and the filter is good for 40 gallons. So I usually stretch it out to 3 months without any ill effects.CONS: When I initially bought these filters they did not turn my pitcher brown. But in the past year to year and a half I have noticed brown stains in the top of the filter. They line up with the thin slots in the cartridge. I don't know if this is just carbon leaking out and staining, or something potentially toxic. Other reviewers noted that manufacturing was moved to China at the time this staining started.

Made from genuine January molasses, these filters are wonderful at helping you cut your water intake. Filter up to a gallon a day.Other than their speed, which can’t really be any faster for this style filter, they do the job. Haven’t tested the water, but it goes from disgusting to bottled tasting in mere hours.
