Acer Nitro 5 AN515 Laptop: Core i5-8300H, 15.6inch Full HD IPS Display, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, NVidia GTX 1050 Ti 4GB Graphics (Renewed)

I've had this laptop for a few days, and so far it has performed perfectly.If you turn brightness down and turn on power saver, you can get something like 3.5-4 hours of battery life which isn't great, but is good enough considering you have a 1050ti and an 8th gen chip in here. I recommend getting CPU-Z and CPUID HWMonitor just to keep an eye on internals because it doesn't hurt.One screw gives you access to the RAM slot, another gives you access to an empty 2.5 inch drive bay, I threw a 1 TB HDD in there, planning on eventually getting another 8 GB of RAM, thank you Acer for making it easy to do that.I play real time strategy games mostly, and this laptop has no problem with that. The fans will get a bit loud, but that's expected, I do recommend a cooling pad just to be safe.The screen is meh, colors are pretty dull but that doesn't really bother me, so that's up to your tastes.Keyboard layout is kinda weird (shift and up arrow key are directly next to each other), but in time I think I'll get used to it.All in all, it's looking good so far, time will tell how long it holds up (the battery especially, considering its a gaming laptop after all).

I just started a new job where I'm going to be spending a lot of time on the road, so I needed a personal laptop to take (as the company one I'll be using is pretty heavily locked down with strict IT policies). In addition to doing my budget, surfing the web and e-mail, I wanted to be able to play some of my favorite games while I'm traveling.This was a perfect fit. Even after upgrading the memory to 16GB and adding an additional 512GB SSD for storage, the price was great. The GPU allows me to run just about all of my favorite games. If you are looking for a solid budget gaming laptop, this is a steal!

This thing boots up in 10 seconds flat! Has no problem playing Ark, Skyrim with mods, and runs Nox with 3 screens great. Tried to push it to 4, it just wouldn't do it, haha.Setup is nice, not an imperfection to be found. The keyboard lights can be turned off of course, and I haven't had any issues with the keyboard feeling flimsy, imo.Runs fairly quietly, and not too hot. Battery lasts about an hour if you're actively playing a game. Otherwise maybe 3hrs.I wish the hard drive was bigger, its almost out of space now, but the fact that it is a solid state makes it worth it for the price. Will definitely have to get an external soon, if nothing else.

Item shipped quickly and came just as if it was brand new- everything seems in perfect working order. Have had it plugged in while using it so far so cannot comment on battery life yet but my son has enjoyed playing Apex Legends on it as well as a few other games and programs he has downloaded.

This thing just randomly freezes up for no reason. It’s a real pain. I’ve downloaded the GeForce experience thinking it’s the GUI but that didn’t help. When it works it’s amazing. When it freezes it want to hit it with a hammer.UPDATE: I contacted acer about warranty repairs, but the warranty has already expired. I contacted Amazon and they are replacing it with another one. Hopefully this one works correctly. I tried updating the drivers for the GPU but it made no difference. Ive seen a multitude of of forum posts about this problem on acers website, so its pretty common problem for this laptop and the fixes range from replacing the MB, RAM, and or SSD. Amazon Is exchanging mine so ill update again after I use it for a bit. It gets one star for now, I'm surprised this item had such a high rating.

I got it for my 16 year old and eventhough its only been less than a week she loves it except delivery was 2days late. She keeps telling how good the graphic is and how fast it is etc. Im not a gamer just a parent purchasing I can tell I got a good product for my money, I'm not sure about the heating but just to be safe I bought her her fan didn't cost much. With the laptop, gaming mouse+pad and fan less than $750 and it looks and running great so far.

Works well apart from the fact that sometimes when the screen turns off because of the laptop being idle or going to sleep, the screen will not turn on again or wake unless I force a restart using the power key. No keyboard or mouse input can wake the laptop. The laptop does not even allow me to change settings to enable or disable device wake/allow device to wake the computer.I had to recently set the power options to make the laptop screen stay on at all times, and I am not sure if this will stop the problem.

My kids needed a computer capable of basic games, a video camera for chatting with friends and teachers. I insisted on a computer that was durable, quiet, built with quality, and had an SSD.This laptop came out on top of my searches. My kids are using two of these for several hours each day, and I haven't run into any major issue with them.
