Capri Tools30500-15TBL Long Star Bit Socket Set, Advanced Series, 15-Piece

This Capri Tools star bit set is premium in every way (the box says "star", not "Torx", which must be a licensed name). The cardboard box it comes in is very nice, and states the country of manufacture is Taiwan. The included rail to hold the sockets is the nicest one I have ever seen. It is beautiful green anodized aluminum with the Capri logo on the bottom. The ends are rounded and finished, not just rough cut, but still they are covered with plastic caps, which makes it quieter to set down on a hard surface and makes it less likely for the sockets to slide off the end. The socket holders have a spring loaded ball retainer, which makes it much nicer to place and remove the sockets instead of the cheap folded metal style that typically either holds too much or too little. It's really a premium experience. Most importantly, they work.There are two head bolts on a Chrysler 2.4 liter engine that require an extended reach Torx socket, which is why I bought this set. I was worried they would break, since even with a long handle these torque-to-yield (TTY) head bolts took some effort to remove. My short sockets worked fine, but I worried the extra length on these would allow them to twist and break. The two head bolts came out, even though the effort on the 23" breaker bar felt like enough to twist and break a socket, with creaking and groaning as the bolts loosened. I was happy the bolts came out, but was not going to write a review until the bolts were put back in. The procedure on these bolts required torquing to 54 foot pounds, then turning another 90°. Even with freshly oiled bolts, there was more creaking and groaning, and it felt like the socket could break, but it didn't. I didn't need to use the website, email address, or phone number included on the box, but it was nice to see them, unlike many tools these days from brands with origins unknown. I am very pleased with these sockets and will be sure to check the Capri brand next time I need a tool.

I found these to be made correctly for the screw type and size. The tensile strength is right up there with their published specs too.
