Frog Bites - Moist Pellet Sinking Diet for Frogs & Small Amphibians (1.5 oz (42.5g))

I had an aquatic African Dwarf Frog, so I got these to feed to it.Well let me tell you, these things really smell like meat, because my cat got them off of the table they were sitting on, next to the aquarium, and chewed several holes right through the bag. That was the first day I got them. So I put them into a plastic ziplock bag and set them up higher. Well my cat, being a cat, found a way to get them from the new spot and chewed holes in the ziploc bags. After that, I started keeping them in the fridge.They’re almost like soft bacon bits. Kind of crumbly, and meaty. I felt like the size of the bag, considering the fact that the frog didn’t eat a lot, was a good value for the money.However, with ADF’s, you’ve gotta try to drop their food with a pair of long aquarium tweezer/tongs right in front of their nose, as they’re mostly blind. I had a really hard time keeping a grip on the pieces of the food, and often it would just crumble into bits in the water before I’d get it close to the frog. So it was a little frustrating.And even though they’re called “sinking pellets,” they wouldn’t always sink to where you’d want them to land, thus the use of the long tweezers.Nevertheless, I was new to feeding an ADF, so I don’t blame my lack of skill on the food itself. My cat tells me that the food is pretty darn good! The poor frog, I’m not sure if he ever got to taste them, as I couldn’t master getting them all the way down to him, so ended up feeding him pellets instead.

Up until they get back legs, these guys are supposed to be strict herbivores. I introduced these pellets when my bigger one got his back legs, but even the smaller one without any legs yet went straight for it. Up until now it’s been algae wafers and spirulina flakes. Happy to have found this food.

They're great but I expected them to be a bit easier to hand feed. They're a little big and if you crumble them they just kind of dissolve into the water. Unfortunately my froggies are little, so crumbling them is the only way they're able to eat them. I find that squishing them a little before putting them in the water helps but it's still messy. That being said, my snails love the mess and my froggies like the little pieces they're able to eat. Ill most likely use these as a back up or feed them these every other day.

My African Dwarf Frogs and Pea-Puffers love these. They seem of high quality, they definitely smell terrible, which is good, as it means it's on the fresh side, not stale smelling like some fish foods. My fish and frogs have had no issues eating these, and they all dive for them when I drop them into the tank. Great price, and will be ordering again.

We used to have problems with our frog food because the fish would eat it up so quickly that the frogs didn't have a chance to get any. That's why we switched to this food, and now we don't have any problems at all. This food sinks to the bottom very quickly and doesn't stay floating on the surface.

At first I was disappointed, as I thought that I would plant these in the ground and I would soon have more cute cuddly frogs with which to play, cuddle and kiss them see if they turn into hansom princes, but after sitting by the hole I planted for several days and nights and seeing no frog growth I read the package more carefully and realized they were for eating not planting. While I hated the taste, my African frog seemed to enjoy them.

My African Dwarf Frog thinks these are just okay. He doesn't really hunt for it or smell the food like others claimed but like I said, maybe mine is just a goober. I need to tweezer feed him or else he will never eat on his own haha. These claim that tou should not souly give them only these pellets, and to feed them their regular food as well. So these will be a special treat when he comes to the glass all excited. This will last me for a few months!
